Just got back from voting... woot!
On a Sunday, no less. Hope all those helpful folks at the board of elections were getting time-and-a-half!

Voted for some Irish fella, O'Bama or something. :)

And it was a distinct pleasure to vote AGAINST two of the local shitheads that help keep Ohio embarrassing, Mike Turner and Jon Husted. May they both go down in flames and start new careers as sewage tasters.

Now I can forget about it all, right? Please say I can... I don't think I can handle another month!

18. well...
well, I handed it to the guy who put it in one of those old-style ballot boxes, which I'm guessing will be kept secured until Election day when they start tabulating the early and absentee votes. With that bastard Blackwell out of the SOS office, I have a certain degree of faith that mine will be counted.

21. as i understand things, in FL (at least in Polk Co), the campaigns can receive lists of who ...
... has voted, and they can check those lists on your behalf. The lists do not indicate who you voted for, but are an important check to at least show that your ballot was counted (for someone).

And even voted against those unopposed Repub judges; unopposed or not, they're not getting my vote.

Obama-Biden!

13. So curious for you to set the scene
Was there a line?
A stready stream of people?
Did you see a lot of names crossed off?
Wondering about how many are voting early, hence my pesky Qs.

15. No real line, but a fair number of people for almost closing time...
I didn't see a list...This was at the county BOE in downtown Dayton, rather than my precinct, so they had laptops instead of a master list. It wasn't like doing standard voting with a machine, but basically filling out an absentee ballot down at the BOE and saving the stamp. Had to fill out the same form they mailed to me that I could have used to request an absentee ballot, and two long sheets where the ovals had to be filled in nice and dark. I'm guessing that might also be the provisional ballot form.

Dayton proper is pretty blue, so I'd say the early voting is heavily for Obama. Outside, there was a volunteer with "sample ballots" listing the Democratic candidates and a couple state issues, and nobody from the red team with their sample ballot, but they might not have bothered late on Sunday afternoon.

There was also an area for those who wanted to do same-day registration that seemed well staffed but not too many people there. Again, I'd guess that's due to being almost closing time -- if you had to do both in one day, you'd probably give yourself more time. Overall I was impressed how well organized and staffed they were. There was a special parking lot for busses right by the entrance, and people with orange vests to direct you to the parking for cars, and there were directional signs everywhere, and everyone seemed to be in good spirits (maybe because it was almost quitting time, or because they were getting 1.5 time for working Sunday.

The woman who signed me in did mention that the early votes (and I presume the absentees) will be counted FIRST THING on election day, which makes sense so they have something to do while waiting for the polls to close. I think that's encouraging, because depending how early they finish, the first reports to the media are going to have the early voters in there, which I suspect will be heavily blue. :)
