* * * Check Your Voter Registration Status Now! * * *
Many people who thought they were registered were unpleasantly surprised. With deadlines expiring, you need to check now.

You never know when it may come in handy. Weird how some voter registrations may "disappear" in battleground states.

9. K&R!! Might be a problem/ excuses at the county election offices
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=7317889&mesg_id=7317889

I can't tell you how many people I have heard while volunteering at TX voter reg. drives say "ya know, I mailed it in" or "I did it at the drivers license place" and "I haven't GOTTEN my card yet and it's been over a month ago"!!

We gave them registration cards (again) to fill out since if they filled it out in front of us (volunteer deputy registrars) we give them a receipt that can be taken to the polling places. Has the deputy registrars name and ID number on it.

So we were handing out LOTS of info to people on HOW to check their county election website voter reg. databases. People had no clue that they could pull their names up on line to verify their applications had been processed!! I'm worried people may NOT get their card and come election day just think "Well, I never GOT my card, guess I am not registered or something".

11. Your state should be like my state
WHO CAN REGISTER
New Hampshire residents who will be 18 years of age or older on election day, and a United States Citizen, may register with the town or city clerk where they live up to 10 days before any election. You may also register on election day at the polling place. The town clerk's office can inform voters of what proof of qualification they should bring to register.

There is no minimum period of time you are required to have lived in the state before being allowed to register. You may register as soon as you move into your new community.

HOW TO REGISTER
1) Apply to your town or city clerk's office. You will be required to fill out a standard voter registration form and will be required to show proof of age, citizenship and domicile.
2) It may be easier for you to register with your community's Supervisors of the Checklist. By law they are required to meet on the Saturday 10 days prior to each election. Check the local newspaper(s) or call your clerk's office for the date and time of such meeting.
3) Qualified individuals may also register to vote at the polling place on election day at all elections. You will be asked to show proof of age, citizenship, and domicile.

22. My birthday was wrong when I checked on the voteforchange.com website.
After mentioning it at my local Obama office, I was advised to register again.

So I did.

All I can say is that if some sneering Rovian douchebags succeed in preventing too many of us from voting, I say we bring back an American revolutionary tradition: tarring-and-feathering...

25. Just checked...
I originally checked and could not find my name listed. I then checked my husband's and he was listed. I decided to try spelling my name another way and it came up. I'm wondering if I should check with my County Clerks Office and ask them about changing it. Does anyone know if is to late to change info for CO?

29. Okay, this is crazy.
My 85 year old mother was registered in Los Angeles County. She now lives with me in Riverside County, Ca. She re-registered in Riverside County. My nephew who lives in her L.A. County house received her voter info pamphlet and one for my father who has been dead for 5 years. She has not received any voter info from Riverside County. I called the Riverside voter registration info number and spoke to a rep. I asked if she is registered in Riverside County. He said yes. I asked if she is going to receive her info pamphlets and he said yes. She still hasn't. What to do. Call again or just have her vote absentee in L.A. County? She is supposed to be a permanent absentee voter.

The Obama registration site still has her registered in L.A. County. I'm afraid to go any further with this for fear it will get so confused she won't be able to vote at all. At least if my dad was still with us he could vote.

Any ideas?
