Oh, What A Feeling
Last Thursday for the Veep debate, we had quite a crowd at the tavern I manage. We've become a sort of way station for the Obama staffers and volunteers. We really do have some great people working locally to put Ohio over the top on 4 November. And I'm proud to work at a place where these good folk visit when they need to unwind, decompress, socialize, escape, reengage and of course eat, drink and be merry. And we have much to be merry about, if I might chance saying so at this early date.

I was amazed at the turnout for the debate and was glad we had taken some steps in case of a large crowd. We had the sound from the debate pumping over our house sound system. I'll never forget hearing the cheers, laughs, and groans from everyone. What really got me though was the silence as Joe or Sarah would begin each of their answers. Seeing so many faces focused as they listened for the answers to the critical and growing problems we face as a nation. I hope to have some pictures soon to post. I will definitely be taking pictures this coming Tuesday for round two of status quo v. change.

We are so close. Don't let our lead go to your head. Don't be cocky. Our party has had a few chances now to practice being a sore loser. Save the gloating for November 5th. Let us be humble as we win the change for which so many have worked so hard.

Let it harden your resolve and temper it with humility.
