I think mine would go something like this:

Dear Senator Obama (Hopefully President Obama),

Thank you for having the Audacity to Hope. I don't know where you find it? I've listened to your words, and they are hopeful and they inspire. Its what we need, although, I'm not sure we deserve it. I look around and I don't know where you find your inspiration or hope. Sure, you have a seemingly wonderful family and a full life, but on a deeper level, the psyche of the American people isn't something I find inspiration in.

The ideal of America is not the America we really have. There's a criminal still at the helm and dotted throughout our political spectrum from the city treasurer all the way up through Rove's minions. We have not acted in our best interests or the world's best interests; sadly we've operated on the behest of a few rich bastards who confuse and muddle and mutilate the ideal of America.

I like to listen to you because it speaks to my ears like a perfect picture of a sun setting over the ocean. Its beauty and mastery. Thank you for having the knowledge of words and understanding their importance. I feel it will be the only soothing we will have for a while; for it is obvious that many will suffer in the coming years as we work to fix what is so broken, and quite frankly, was never whole to begin with.

Thank you for daring to believe in us. Thank your wife and children for unselfishly sharing you with the world. I don't know what this world will become. The future is unwritten, but the vision you paint sounds pretty gosh-darn, gee-willy, and rootin'-tootin' swell (I still don't know who talks like this, other than Gov. Palin-LOL). Lord knows, I hope that we are done with trickle down, un-American b.s. from Republicans. I hope that my son doesn't have to remember the "bad times" that we face; I'm trying to shield him the best I can. Good Luck and God Speed!!!!

Signed,
Me, just another citizen.

1. I'm voting for him because he's smarter then I am. I wouldn't presume to tell him anything.
I trust him to exercise good judgment in the campaign, and in the Whitehouse.

2. If you really want to help the middle class Senator Obama
As President, introduce, push for, bully pulpit for, and get enacted legislation rolling back the caps on credit card interest rates to where they were in the 1970's (17-18% tops) when all caps were lifted. Americans are drowning in credit card debt because of usurious interest rates that should be illegal. Introduce this legislation and push for its passage. Middle class America needs this relief. You will win millions of hearts and minds with this simple bit of legislation. And the credit card companies sure as hell won't suffer one little bit.

and watch it a couple of times. Universal, single payer healthcare is not evil. We can make it work here better than any country in the world! Please open your mind to it. Every American Deserves Health CARE...not Health INSURANCE!

8. I relate so well to how you're feeling right now, Glowing.
I cry alot (like now... reading your letter... it's beautiful) lately and it's because I'm so happy. He lifts me up to a place I haven't been in many many years (since Kennedy). I love this man as I would a son. I pray for his safety.

12. Thank you, I'm not sure what a Kennedy was like, but Obama is really good.
Its amazing he's made it this far in the system we call politics. I guess if we all pull the best of ourselves out, we can change the world... Maybe that's what he's betting on.

13. Dear Mr. President... you probably don't remember, but we met in the summer of 2003.
It was the 4th of July in Evanston, and you, along with various other Democrats, were campaigning at the parade. You were the only one who actually took the time to talk to us students for any length of time.

I knew you were special then.

When I saw him on TV at the DNC the following year I was doing cartwheels:

21. Dear Future President Obama
I write to you today to let you know that I am putting all my hope for our country in you. I can not begin to put myself in your shoes right now. You knew a year ago there were so many issues on the table, but you knew you could make a difference. Now you, we, the country, get the news that our country is facing finanical ruin, boy you talk about walking into a hornets nest. BUt with that said Future President Obama, you are going to need believe in me, believe in all of us in this country. We stand behind you, we will shore you up, we will cheer you on, we will provide you the strength to keep moving forward. We are strong, as individual and a power house combined together.

Know that we are all learning that we are going to need to lean on one another during this finanical crisis, we are prepared to face living with in many cases, not even the basics for living. We are going to look to you as we struggle, but you will also need to look at us.

There are 3 things I ask:
1. I ask that you first stop the tax breaks for corporations that send their jobs overseas or use H1B to get cheaper labor. H1B has played a big role in Americans not being able to pay their bills. Corporations saying they can not find qualified workers, so bring in the workers they need. This is simply not true.

2. That there be a way to find these corporate CEO's to pay for what they have done to us, our country. That the innocent be part of the bailout, those that worked for these corporate greeds. These hard workers are now facing the loss of their homes, food on their tables. The bailout is protecting the CEO's but not the workers that worked for these big corporations. This must change.

3. End the war in Iraq. Stick by your words. I understand the 16 month plan will mean there will part of our Military remaining in Iraq as Iraq continues to stailize their country. They need to pay us for the protection and knoweledge that our Military will be providing to their country. They can now afford it.

Remember, we are Strong Future President Obama, you can lead us through the rough roads ahead, we have your back, please have ours.

Thank you.

23. Ha ha! I didn't want to overwhelm him!
There are so many issues that must be addressed. But I figure, if we can get our jobs back in this country, that is going to help the economy, bring our soliders home, that is going to help our soliders families and our economy. Make those RATS pay for what they did... I'd personally like to pick out their cardboard boxes they should be living in, put all their property up on E+bay and sell it to help our country. That is a good start. But the most important thing.... we have his back, he needs to have ours.
