you know, i almost hope we don't reach 60 seats in the senate
because i REALLY do not want lieberman to be relevant.

and i certainly do NOT want to give have to him a committee chair to buy his cooperation on "party" line votes!

8. he's independent now and has a committee chair
that's apparently the deal, he caucuses with the democrats and in return, he keeps his committee chair and can even campaign for mclame. steep price to pay to "control" the senate these last 2 years.

20. most of the lieberman voters were republicans
so i don't think they're having buyer's remorse; i think they're having a big laugh at our expense.

6. It's not impossible to get 60 without Lieberman
Assuming we get:

AK
AR
CO
CT
DE
IA
IL
LA
MA
MI
MT
NC
NH
NJ
NM
OR
SD
VA
WV

Which are already going "Blue"

We'd just need any three of:

GA Behind by 2%
KY Behind by 4%
MN Behind by 1%
MS Behind by 4%
TX Behind by 7%

to get 60 w/o Lieberman.

Depending on turnout, this is a possible, albeit a long-shot.

11. I want full control
we have to pass everything without fights to get the country back on track as fast as possible...the hell with Lieberman, unless he converts to Christianity his new friends won't want him very long either...he'll learn the true meaning of being a traiter...

13. If we get 54 or more we can still tell him to fuck off.
I don't think that our ultimate aim should be a supermajority--it would be nice to get that, but we can flip off some moderates from their side on the votes where we ABSOLUTELY need them. Remember, we still have both Nelsons and some more moderate Dems too--what's to say they'll always vote with us?

14. Once McCalin/Pain lose Lieberman will need to fall in line or his career is over
Honestly, his career may be over no matter what. He threw in his hat with a loser and well be tied to him no matter what.

18. I hope to see his sorry ass sent home in shame.
Lieberman is a real piece of shit and the type of person we can certainly do without. I, too, wonder what those who voted for him in '06 think now, aside from the Republicans, of course.

15. We only need 60 to stop filibusters
The Republicans can't filibuster everything, they'd look ridiculous.

16. 60 seats means no filibustering on Obama's Supreme Court nominees.
If he has the opportunity to fill any SCOTUS vacancies.
