I live in hell.
Drove across town this morning to a birthday party. Counted 28 McCain-Palin yard signs and saw a group of nutters out on a street corner waving the bloody things. The damned signs seem to have sprouted like mushrooms in the last 48 hours.

Obama signs? Zero! Almost burst into tears.

I cannot afford to buy a bunch of signs but I sure would spend the time putting them up around town. I think I finally found a local Obama office but why don't they have phone numbers? Reverse look up isn't even giving me anything. I know the area and the address doesn't make much sense to me. It shouldn't be this hard to get your hands on some signs and find out how to hit the pavement hard for the last month of the campaign.

1. chill.
let them post signs. Don't go broke trying to buy them. They will only get stolen anyway.

Knock on doors. Make phone calls.

McCain = winner in yard sign election

Obama = winner of the November 4th election.

I'm good with that.

24. I thought of you today FLDem5...I hope you see this!!
As I drove along the suburban streets outside of Cleveland...counting the McCain signs and hoping to see some Obama signs, your words rang in my ears...then...what's that (and how I WISH I had a camera to have this moment for all eternity...I may even go back and take pics today)

The street was suddenly lined, on both sides, with small, waving American flags that led up to at least six Obama/Biden signs...boom boom boom...right in a row...the American flags continued for, I'm sure, another mile...

I literally said "Nice!" out loud!

I'm proud to lose the yard sign election and prouder yet to win the November 4th! :patriot:

Obama signs are few and far between.
But guess what? McCain still isn't going to win New York. Ever. :hi:

4. I live in a very red part of Arizona
and I seen ONE McCain/Palin yard sign and perhaps 4 bumper stickers.

Dozens of Obama / Biden bumper signs.

And, to be fair, lots and lots of Bush/Cheney '04 bumper stickers.

15. Have done. Unfortunately, the local group around here...
seems more intent on sniping at each other via email than actually accomplishing anything. I unsubbed in disgust. The site is where I found the supposed local office though. I'm going to swing by there in a few minutes to see if it's real and what I can get there and do for the campaign.

8. You can make one of your own
it will only show that you are even more committed than most years.

For $3 you can get red, blue paint and poster board at the craft store.

10. I could have made this post too. I live in SWOhio and McCain
signs have popped up everywhere with hardly any Obama signs. I too went garage sale-ing Friday and was so bummed. I know they are not big on giving out yard signs but it is a nice thing to see.

11. Gross!
I saw a McCain/Pain sticker the other day. The first thing I thought was that it's like putting a "kick me" sign on your own back. It's like saying to the world "Hey, I'm an idiot!".

There are so many things I would love to borrow from Europe. For example, many of the same pinheads who support the conservative candidates also seem to think that modifying their exhaust to make it roar is a really cool thing. In Europe I imagine they have rules that strictly prohibit this. I'm sick of these boneheads who just want to tromp on everything. Including the society we are trying so hard to build.

Oh well. I would visit Florida. I feel for you, having just given up on a beautiful farm just to get away from the Bush 04 bumper sticker mentality.

16. The major difference is
That the McCain campaign buys all of those signs. In my part of Wisconsin the Obama campaign has not provided any signs. I'm not complaining, I think they are right to put their money into people, not signs. The Obama campaign has at least three times the staff on the ground in Wisconsin that Kerry did. The county Party has paid for the signs and asked for donations to get more. We have run out twice due to the high demand.

Don't give the signs too much weight, there is an old saying in politics, "yard signs don't vote".

19. I still have counted ONE McCain bumper sticker in Central Texas
What's sad is that there are still quite a number of old 04 Bush Cheney bumper stickers fading on vehicles.
What I find strange is that I also see a lot of 'Texas Democrat' stickers, more so than Obama ones.

I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. I'm really bummed out, a yard sign does no good if it arrives Nov. 5.

28. Still Waiting
Donated $100 to get magnetic bumper sticker on Sept 2, ordered tshirts and buttons on Sept 6...and I'm still waiting. A buzz kill.
McCantWin signs popped up everywhere in the last week in my neighborhood. But my Obama sign has been up for a month. Hope it annoyed the heck out of them. One of the people I canvassed said he didn't want to put up sign in his yard, figured better to go under the radar and give them a surprise. In a republican dominant area maybe it's good to let them get a little complacent. Looking for Obama offices? Maybe go on his website and offer to volunteer. Then you should get a call with details. Just saying. Or call your local
dem group, or even a local candidate. Yes you can.

27. This is unacceptable
I thought the Obama campaign was supposed to be well-organized and with way more money than the McCain campaign.

They need to get their act together on the yard signs issue. Maybe decentralize the printing and distribution.

Maybe they are discriminating against States that are not in play?

31. Oh fer'pity's sake...
I live in IOWA and the McPain signs outnumber Obama ones at least 4 to 1. But here's the deal...the Obama campaign decided to spend their money on strategy..not campaign paraphernalia. That's why most people are buying their stuff on the internets. Let the McShame camp blow their wad on big signs...remember pulling out of Michigan was a FINANCIAL decision. How many states is the Obama camp pulling out of?

32. I believe the Obama campaign has decided that yard signs are not the best use of $$$
In my neighborhood in SW OH, the students got them at a UC rally in Feb during the primaries. Only recently are we getting the post primary signs. My opinion is that they are meant to remind our student neighbors to boost their turnout on Nov. 4 & to encourage early voting.

34. Where in FL do you live?
The signs, admittedly, haven't been a top priority for the Obama campaign. They cost a lot of money and don't do much to win over voters at the Presidential level. They're more interested in ground game. Phone calls, door-knocks, voter registration. Those three numbers. Yard signs are an afterthought.

However, I have seen signs of them actually getting some in.

35. Here in Chicago year after year there are tons of signs for losing candidates.
There are so many signs out. They really don't mean much. They can affect morale a bit tho'. I was in Indiana yesterday and saw several Obama signs no mcstupid ones. It is a VERY liberal working class area. The local autoworkers union organized us volunteers and they made their own Obama signs buttons and stickers and are putting them up all over the place.
