...and the chances of that happening are pretty darn slim.

13. After the election, McCain is going to go searching America's golf courses for the real economy
Unlike OJ, he may just find what he's looking for there.

think of OJ is a bigot. Those people weren't going to vote for Obama anyway.

Meanwhile, Kerry lost in 2004 because McDonalds changed their packaging logos on their drinks

26. Cali, come on....
If anything, this will be used as a wedge issue to drive division within the dem party along racial lines. I'm not saying the timing of the verdict was intended for that purpose, but the right wing media will certainly use it to Mccain's advantage by covering this adnauseum{sp).

29. I guarantee you the OJ conviction is irrelevant to the presidential race
people are concerned about the economy melting down, not the conviction of a has been celebrity. This won't even last more than one news cycle.

20. I'm not sure about the coincidence of the timing of the verdict, but........
The issue may increase tense racial tensions and the repubs will milk it to swing the pendelum in McCain's favor. I hope all in involved just continue to keep their eye on the ball.

24. The media's trying to regain control of their narrative. First step: DISTRACT.
You know the narrative - "The Democrats are weak and spineless and won't fight back, the Republicans are tenacious, we have a dramatic horse race so we can rake in those ratings!"

With the economic shitstorm, the god-awful performances of McCain and Palin at their debates, and Obama's rocketing poll numbers, sometimes the thing to do if you're an evil right-wing media mogul is DISTRACT, DISTRACT, DISTRACT! Get Joe Sixpack thinking about something, anything other than Barack Obama...

Here comes OJ - it's gonna be the OJ trial for a news cycle or two. Next, Britney or Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton will have another celebrity meltdown. Next, we're gonna hear about missing white girls. Lather, rinse, repeat for a few days, until the Obama momentum leaves the public's conscience (because they know perfectly well about our goldfish-like attention-span) and they can try to reboot the right-wing narrative and have McCain dominating the narrative again.
