Saturday - Sarah Palin Leads A McCain Rally in Carson, California
At the Home Depot Center. The Home Depot Center is a Soccer stadium, so I guess they are going for a large turnout, which is why they are in California at Soccer stadium even though California is not in play.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will hold a rally on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Carson, the Republican Party of Orange County announced Thursday.

Palin, who has drawn large and enthusiastic crowds around the country, will speak in the 13,000-seat tennis stadium at the Home Depot Center.

The event was originally scheduled to take place today in Orange County, but was postponed so that Palin could attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week.

Palin, the governor of Alaska, has been credited with energizing Sen. John McCain's presidential bid, and is especially popular among the Republican Party's social conservative base.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m.

Tickets to the Carson rally may be obtained by e-mailing california@johnmccain.com.
Tickets can also be picked up at McCain Victory Headquarters at 23211 Hawthorne Blvd. in Torrance.

5. i think it's because she is hurting McCain more than most VPs
so they are keeping her out of the more important states.

7. "YES WE CAN! Doncha' Know?"
It would be great if a bunch of Democrats could go to the event and make this chant.

16. It must be a payback for a deep pocket contributor
Of course the McCain campaign knows it is wasting its time in Ca, but probably some big contributor wanted her there to help a down ticket candidate. At least that would be my guess.

4. What is she doing out here?
They have no chance of winning in California and she's appearing in area that is heavily Democratic. Not that I care about them wasting their time, but this really shows what poor judgment the McCain camp has.

9. Its Smack In The Middle of Los Angeles County - 9 million people
Orange County, which is nearby has 3 million people. Southern California is huge, and the city of Carson is centrally located. If you want to go for a massive amount of people, Southern California is the place to do it.

11. Let's see: Over the past couple of days, McCain and/or Palin has
1. Campaigned in Iowa

2. Pulled out of Michigan

3. Bought ad space in Maine

4. Campaigned in Arizona

5. Campaigned in California

... and yet they wonder why they're losing?

17. the last hurrahs
in states they will lose but MUST show the flag in a futile attempt to win the popular vote. Time constraints will disappear this wasteful gesture as they go into landslide avoidance mode GOP style, which will probably(aside from cheating) make Bob Dole look very good.

29. That's a heavily black area
I hope the neighbors come out to 'greet' her and her fans

I heard the McCain groups in the Palos Verdes and beach areas were all excited about this. These are the same people who didn't want their kids coming down the hill and to this area for high school athletic events. :eyes:

I was surprised when I heard this. I figured she hit the OC.
