Vatican injects self into US politics, calls Democrats "party of death"
http://www.newshounds.us/2008/10/03/vatican_injects_self_into_us_politics_calls_democrats_party_of_death.php

ON FOX and Friends this morning 10/03/08, a brief segment was devoted to a statement from a former Catholic Archbishop from St. Louis, who is now a Vatican official, who is upset with the Democratic Party's stance on bio-ethical issues including abortion and stem-cell research. Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, both Catholics, were named as having taken public stances on these issues contrary to the church's.

This man, Archbishop Raymond Burke, said the party risks "transforming itself definitively into the party of death." Apparently he is giving the pro-war, pro-gun, pro-death penalty Republican party a pass for their positions.

Burke is the fellow who, in 2004, injected himself into US politics by saying that John Kerry should be denied Communion because of his support for women's right to choose. He is also the former boss of radio host Jamie Allman, who during the 2006 election cycle appeared with Bill O'Reilly to smear the Stowers' of Kansas City, whose Medical Research Institute is on the forefront of stem cell research.

This was barely a story today but trust FOX to come up with something to rile the religious right and cast a negative light on leading Democrats - the day after the debate, what a happy coincidence.

2. You mean that members of the upper echelon of an organization
that has run interference for and outright protected child molesters within their ranks for decades, nay, centuries, is flinging mud at the US Democrats? How galling. SERIOUSLY! :eyes:

3. Goodbye Tax Exempt Status
I wonder if this priest would make the same statements in the United States, where he would be risking his diocese's tax exempt status.

Hey, maybe this is a budget-balancing measure. Think of the Roman Catholic church's real estate holdings! (In Los Angeles, the Church owns several parcels of prime real estate on Bunker Hill.)

9. GOD! I Want Religion Out of Politics
I am SO sick of having to argue with someone's interpretation of what some deity in the sky said 2000 years ago.

I do not mean to be demeaning to those that are religious. I am fine if they make their decisions and base their votes on the values their faith brings into their lives.

What I am tired of is these Religious leaders coming on TV and TELLING their flock and others HOW we should feel, vote etc....

Sorry if it sounds like I over reacted....I just found out from my neighbor that HER pastor told his flock its a clear choice between a party of sodomites and killers and a party that lives by the word of God. Of course no ENDORSEMENT was given...so that tax exemption is safe. (I won't get started there)

12. I've given up trying to figure out why the GOP is the "life" party to these people.
The GOP and George Bush have violated just about every tenet of Catholic Social Teaching over the past eight years. But that's OK, I guess, because they're "pro-life" -- at least until you leave the delivery room, that is.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

21. It is party of life to them
because they are only alive in the ego. Alive when they dominate others and try to make them into the image of themselves.Ego is all they have.Anyone that is not like them threatens them...They are blind, murderous, jealous of real living beings.

18. Pope? Listen up you nazi old fart...

YOUR belief system is a whited sepulcher of a DEATH CULT.
The snake rises over your tortured crucified archon martyr, and you know your kind cannot exist without using another consciousness to exploit so you can tell yourself you feel alive..I know who your mother is...I remember.
The monotheistic concept of God is an error, a mental glitch. It becomes exploited by the Archons, and exaggerates beyond correction. As it does so, the monotheistic paradigm takes on a totalitarian profile. Hence the NAZI pope,How fitting!!

Get some Gnosis you half dead hypocrite!!. If you can afford it. Ego death in more than a single dose. If you can dare it.

SekemGaiaMaatSophia.

In your self absorbed church I am Heretic,Fuck you and the church you control,Fuck you, for your dark ages, witch burnings and countless murders wars and genocides, and the lies you"sanctify Your Errors..And may your Archon Half maker false "god" reveal itself to you and I await the day your dead alien hive minds fall apart as this reality leaves your control and the fetters fall..and you awaken.

The Archons believe they can create humanity in their image, and they wish humanity to believe the same!! Lacking ennoia, the Archons cannot create, they can only imitate. Beholding the Anthropos template, they wrongly imagine they can create humanity to resemble themselves, and this remains their most cherished desire: to have us become like them.

Archons are the key to unlock our illusion of separation, yet they would imprison us in that illusion, because it serves their dementia. Called anomia, "aberration," in The Apocryphon of John and elsewhere, the dementia of the Archons is evident in our own minds, especially in religious ideas such as the belief that we, the human species, are supreme and unique, created "in God's image."

validity than a day old infant killed in a bombing. All we hear about is abortion but nothing anti-war.
