maverick = wing nut
I have a new definition for "Maverick" -> "Wing nut"

If you just substitute "wing nut" every time Palin or McCain says "maverick" they actually start to make sense!


Meaning "weird person", probably not from the literal sense but from the secondary sense of nut, influenced perhaps by slang senses of wing in wing-ding "wild party," originally "fit, spasm" (1937).

They're totally screwing the word maverick and it has nothing to do with THEM :mad: them frickin Wing Nuts. Maverick means Idiot Shithead to me from now on.
