Do Over! Palin Answers Katie Couric's Questions…to Fox News' Carl Cameron (She Reads The Economist, She Says)
October 03, 2008 2:52 PM

In a post-debate interview today with Fox News' chief political correspondent Carl Cameron, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin provided some of the answers that seemed to elude her in her past interview with Katie Couric.

Cameron told her that some observers, pleased with her debate performance, asked "Where was this Sarah Palin in the interview with Katie Couric?"

"Ok, I'll tell you honestly," Palin said, "the Sarah Palin in those interviews is a little bit annoyed because it's like, man no matter what you say you're going to get clobbered. If you choose to answer a question you are going to get clobbered on the answer. If you choose to try and pivot and go on to another subject that you believe that Americans want to hear about you get clobbered for that too."

Palin said "in those Katie Couric interviews I did feel that there were a lot of things that she was missing in terms of an opportunity to ask what a vice presidential candidate stands for -- what the values are represented in our ticket. I wanted to talk about Barack Obama increasing taxes which would lead to killing jobs, wanted to talk about his proposal to increase government spending by another trillion dollars. Some of his comments that he has made about the war that I think may in my world disqualifies someone from consideration as the next commander in chief….I wanted to talk about things like that. So I guess I have to apologize about being a little annoyed, but that is also an indication of being outside that Washington elite, outside of the media elite also and just wanted to talk to Americans without the filter and let them know what we stand for."

1. God forbid you take a stand on something, lady
being clobbered for your ideas is something all politicians have to deal with... if you don't like it, you're in the wrong business.

2. Too late now
I highly doubt she reads the Economist, although maybe she started since last week. It would be amusing if someone slipped in a question about it to see if she's a regular reader (eg their lead cartoonist is called KAL, or the opinion column on US politics is always under the pseudonym 'Lexington'.)

"I read the same things that other people across the country read, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal and The Economist and some of these publications that we've recently even been interviewed through up there in Alaska. (etc.)"

If she had said this in the first place nobody would have been making fun of her over it.

4. If she reads the Economist...ask her to mention her favorite article and the author
and why it was so important of a topic. She'll flatline once again.

8. I would love to make up a faux issue and let her hang herself-

"Oh then of course you have seen the 6 part series on the new American and British mercantilism and how that is going to save Africa?

Do you agree with it?

15. I think the Economist might be a little advanced for her
and it covers a lot of non-Alaska stuff, like Asia and Africa and Europe.

She had an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, IIRC. Or at least something with her name on it.

This sounds to me like an attempt to make her sound intellectual, cause we all know that's the only type of people who read the NYT.

And I'm annoyed that she picked 3 of the publications that I read - although the WSJ editorial page is bad for my blood pressure.

5. "So.. umm.. basically,
I really just wanted Katie to ask me questions about things that I wanted to talk about.. not what America really wants to hear. I wanted her to throw softballs at me so I could just attack Obama, instead of being forced to talk about my non-record and total lack of experience.

But, thanks for giving me an opportunity to think for a week about these questions, ask all of my debate coaches last week what the "real answers" were to that tough interview, and come back now and give you the rehearsed answers i've been told to say."

Umm... Sarah.. F-. You must think Education in Texas is wonderful.. because public school teachers are forced to now give any student who fails a test the opportunity to re-take it as many times as they'd like, and not take a lower grade.

How fucking awesome would that be if you could just re-do every decision you fuck up as a VP (or god forbid President). "Hey Putin.. fuck you".. BOMB BOMB BOMB. Ooops. Let me try that again "Hey Putin, Sanctions". WAR WAR WAR. Oops.. let's try that again. Hey Putin, can we meet without pre-conditions and have a little chat? Ohhh.. wow, no WWIII - awesome. Third times a charm! :)

FUCK YOU SARA PALIN. You don't get SECOND CHANCES IN THE REAL WORLD!

Palin said "in those Katie Couric interviews I did feel that there were a lot of things that she was missing in terms of an opportunity to ask what a vice presidential candidate stands for -- what the values are represented in our ticket...."

Honey, your answers made your values very, very clear.

You value a vice president who "learns on the job and then gets to be president" (just like you expect to be, miss naked ambition)

You value a simplistic sports movie about "getting to play" where the favorite scene is the hero winning a game and riding on the shoulders of his team being adulated by the crowd (unlike your opponent who values a sports movie about a moral dilemma, where the best scene is the hero putting principles ahead of a game and personal glory)

You think the worst thing a particular VP has done is accidentally shoot a friend. You opponent thinks the worst thing this same VP has done is shred the constitution and turn us into a nation of torturers.

What more do we need to know about you? Seriously!!!!!

10. LIES!
You have to be able to read on a college level to understand the articles in the Economist, they are actually written for adults. I do not believe she reads it at all. I bet she doesn't realize it is a "liberal" (as in old-skool 1850s free trade) magazine.

11. Why is that hoochie dancer being given interview after interview? Is that equal time thing gone?
I mean.. how MANY fucking interviews does that witch get to do in an effort to smooth over the massive fuck ups she does on the LAST interview???

Has Media Matters or anyone done a study to see how much face time that wack witch gets?? this is unprecedented. I'm hating her more and more every day.
