Couric: What previous Vice President impresses you... Palin: Geraldine Ferraro
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 12:58 PM by ProSense

Sarah Palin Can't Name Any Vice Presidents

Wow:

COURIC: What previous Vice President impresses you the most and why?

PALIN: Oh my goodness. It would have to be --Vice President--just a candidate, and that would have to have been Geraldine Ferraro, of course. That's an easy one for me because she's--she's the one who first shattered part of that glass ceiling anyway in American politics. So it would be she as a candidate.

COURIC: What about as an actual Vice President if you had to name one?

PALIN: My goodness. I think those who have gone on to the Presidency--George Bush Sr, having --kind of learned the ropes in his position as VP and then moving on up.

(emphasis added)

Speechless!

4. Yeah, "he learned the ropes" just like Palin will do.
She's an idiot.

3. so, she only likes George Bush SR bc he used VP as stepping stone to presidency?
Frightening! And I'm sure conservatives just love that Geraldine Ferraro shout out.

5. She offered Ferraro, who wasn't a VP, then
suddenly remember Bush's father.

She's dangerously clueless.

6. I guess she has just enough brain cells to know not to name Cheney!
Even though she so clearly craves his level of power...

11. Well, you wouldn't expect her to name John Nance Gardner
who said the office wasn't worth a bucket of warm piss.

I kinda like Aaron Burr myself for her role model - unlike Cheney, he killed his target! And after being acquitted of murder got himself tried for treason - and acquitted again! They don't make VPs like they used to.

Seriously, VPs I admire include Adams, Jefferson, the other Adams, Roosevelt, Truman, Johnson and Gore.

7. To be fair, she named Bush Sr. He was VP. So the title isn't accurate.

10. At least she didn't list
John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry Truman and/or Lyndon Johnson.

All of whom "learned the ropes and moved up" when the president died in office.
