Palin: Wired for Sound or Wired for Audio?
I was on my way back from the bank this morning and was listening to the Stephanie Miller show. A woman called in and claimed she saw Palin take something off her waist and it had a screen and a wire attached. She was watching C-Span and it took place right before she walked off the stage.

Personally, I think it was a lapel mic but I'm curious if anyone else saw this. It would explain her not having any pregnant pauses like she did in her interviews.

Thoughts?

2. If she had been wired she would have actually answered a question or two.
She was nothing more than a well trained chimp up there, answering questions with whatever talking point came into her head or she found in her notes.

14. LOL! True but I doubt his handlers would allow mcsame to stay up that late.
It's not like he's palin's 6 month old son or little daughter. They'd have him soundly asleep before 9pm, just like he was during his debate with Obama last week.

At least I figure that must have been his excuse for spending an hour and a half rambling nonsensical comments about how life was in the 1940's.

5. It looked to me as if she were taking off the mic used for the debate..
it was on her lapel. I did notice her say "okay" during the debate while Biden was speaking...I found that weird. I'm disgusted with that debate. I am offended by her winking and talking like an uneducated fool

6. Well, all I can say is that I believe I saw the earpiece.
I could only see it on the new HiDef T.V. my hubby bought. He pointed it out to me. I noticed that, try as she might, she couldn't avoid responding to her 'coaches' every once in awhile. That's just my humble opinion. They were able to give her catch phrases, but she just didn't know what to do with them.

I have to remember that I have no idea what the real rules to the 'debate' were; there's a contract which, thus far, the Powers That Be have refused to release to the public (those in charge at the private corporation that controls the debates).

8. Did you think you saw it in her left ear?
I thought I saw like a clear tube or something in her left ear but then again I was looking for some sort of earpiece and it may have just been matrixing.

16. Yep; that was what I saw.
I observed her responding to the coaching (she'd catch herself, and try and make out that she was just nodding at whatever). Something went wrong with the plan, though; one can feed her words, but fail to teach her what they mean. Palin obviously does not understand certain legal concepts!

I'm upset. This law school graduate (non-practicing) would have asked her, "Sarah, what are the three branches of government, and what articles in the Constitution set each branch up?" Also, "Sarah, what were those ten thingies the founders attached to the U.S. Constitution again?"

and unfortunately the on-line versions of the video does not have that moment - they cut to Giuliani and stopped

10. I'm not as crazy as I thought then,
I thought I saw the same.

If there is that possibility then maybe reviewing the transcript for the following might give evidence. My guess is that she was not given talking points on direct questions as the camera would be directly on her but on questions where she is on rebuttal then while Sen. Biden was giving his answer someone could have given her the talking points and have her jot them down giving the appearance of her just collecting her thoughts. I guess it would be interesting to see the disparity of answers under these circumstances,

How much in greater detail were her responses in her 2 minute rebuttal after her initial response?

How much detail and contrast were her initial rebuttals in relation to responses when she was directly asked questions?

11. I saw it.
It was a 'in the corner of the screen' visible. I wondered if it was lapel mic but weren't there microphones at the podiums?

18. They have lapel mics as well. You can see them clearly.
That's how you could hear their chit-chat at the beginning when they were shaking hands.

12. The earpiece is different, but Lavalier Mics have a battery pack that attaches to the belt w/ a
metal clip that can look like a vid screen (ipod size)

15. At the end, she took off the transmitter for the wireless mic

They both had one.

It is always a good idea to take it off after use, because bad things happen if you forget you have it on.

20. If you go to this video montage, you'll see it come and go.
Watch especially when she says "Joe Six-Pack" (:46) you'll see it. Just watch the whole clip with your eye on her right shoulder and you'll see this "wire thing" (for lack of a better description) continually appear & disappear.
