5. I don't see how the state that elected Wellstone and Ventura would vote for McCain.
It just doesn't seem likely.

9. It isn't likely
Obama's been trending upward nationally. I don't see how he loses ground in a state Kerry won.

Look at the last SUSA polls from MN and compare them to others.

McCain is doing 10 about points better in every SUSA MN poll.

10. At 538.com, some people looked at the internals and discovered they make no sense
McCain leads among women and young voters while Obama leads among the elderly?! Impossible. Bad poll.

15. from the detail
Minnesota behaves unlike other states in some respects. Among women, there is movement to McCain, at a time when McCain is losing ground among women elsewhere. Among voters younger than Obama, there movement to McCain, at a time when Obama is consolidating support among young voters elsewhere. Among voters older than McCain, there is movement to Obama, at a time when older voters elsewhere are sticking by McCain. In Western MN, which abuts the Dakotas, there is movement to McCain. In Northeastern MN, which overhangs Michigan, there is see-sawing back to Obama.

Translation we conducted a bad poll.

13. We went for Mondale, fuckers. We've got this
:P

Seriously though, this appears to be an outlier poll; it won't be this close on the day--trust me. Plus we have a very liberal same-day registration policy, which affects polling methodology on "likely voters" to some extent.

17. Obama will win MN.
This Coleman-Franken race does have me worried, however. If anyone can spare a little extra, please donate to Al Franken:

19. Good
If McSame's campaign buys that outlier, they'll move resources to Minnesota that could be used in Ohio or Florida. I doubt they will but with the poor campaign they've run it's not out of the question.

22. Survey USA
May I remind people during the Primarys they had Hillary winning Missouri by 12.Obama won by 1.
They had Hillary winning Indiana by 10 she won by 1.

Over here http://www.swingstateproject.com/
In talking about the senate race they are skepical about the Minnesotta numbers.

Survey USA In regards to Minnesotta look dead wrong.
