Did the word "ditz" enter your mind?
I know it did mine. Watching Palin was offensive to me as a woman. Does anyone here think that Hillary Clinton would have ever behaved that way on a national stage?

4. Pageant contestant for Mrs America
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 08:39 AM by merbex
the object of winning the "title" ..ultimately a job in broadcasting....that's what I thought

Displaying knowledge for the job that she is up for?

Not so much... she's lucky that there has been a culture of conservatism that she has absorbed for 30 years all around her to be able to stand there for 90 minutes and recite talking points

14. Methinks you mean a "post turtle". . .from an old story modified. . .
The Box Turtle Story:

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, a doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President.

The old rancher said, “well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.” Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle is.

The old rancher said, “when you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain...”You know… she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with.”

13. I kept thinking: slut!
All the winking and coyness! She was totally trying to use a combination of sexy vamping and down-home 'folksiness' to charm the voters into liking her and letting her have what she wants.

:puke:

She's good at it. She's been doing it all her life and it's worked pretty well so far.

I felt bad thinking it but it was the most accurate description. She sounded like a high school girl excited about speaking at the pep rally.

She learned her lines and was prepared to parrot them every chance she had. I half expected her to eat a seed in between answers.

22. No. I confess I repeatedly used a much harsher word. One
my husband and sons are not allowed to use around me. Plus, a lot of "Answer the damn questions...!"

24. I got very angry when she said "I'm not going to answer that,"
about the cause of global warming, and then she just wouldn't answer ANY of the questions. IMO, she was the only one who tried to use her gender, as well as ignoring the spirit of a debate by just spewing her rehearsed mini-speeches, which usually had nothing to do with the subject at hand. I am still surprised at my own reaction - it was visceral.

27. right there with you. both hubby and i
hubby so passive, non confrontational and mellow

were so full of scorn by the end. regardless of what the woman did or said.

but then hubby LIKES smart, independent women. he has a family of them. and has never thought much of the woman that behaves like this, in workforce or whatever. he feels like she is saying he is stupid. and he isnt thrilled with that projection
