in the flag pin debate. Her pin was easily twice the size of Joe's pin.

Agreed.
She also had a little Blue Star Family pin above the flag. A clear victory in the "shallow display of patriotism" department. Plus she way out-winked him.

1. I actually have that exact same jeweled pin...
It was my great-great-aunt's pin. I think she got it in the 1960s. I used it to play dress up when I was five years old. That says something about Palin's taste.

4. Nah. They weren't pins, they were symbols.
Hers was clearly a fertility symbol; the shape was designed to represent her mommy parts. (You cannot argue against this, particularly if you witnessed the size of her brood hopping around stage after the debate.)

His was phallic. Period.
