SurveyUSA Minnesota: McCain by 1
SurveyUSA now places the race statistically tied with a one-point lead for McCain.

http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=0782fede-2757-4c86-9479-f84f02afc9fb

The CNN/Opinion Research battleground poll and Rasmussen have Obama with comfortable leads, though about three others have roughly the same result as SurveyUSA. I will not comment on the crosstabs of SurveyUSA's poll, as I am not familiar with MN's past turnout percentages, regional voting patterns, etc. However, the margin in the Twin Cities area does seem oddly close.

7. Got to get that back
Minnesota is part of the Democratic Upper Midwest. IN 84, 88, 92, 96 00, 04 the Democratic candidate won Minnesota. It probably goes back further than that.

9. No Republican has won Minnesota since 1972.
Why would an utter asshole like McCain be the first one to break the trend?

12. I read Obama wasn't even running ads there he's so confident
so I expect his internal polls show a very different story.

13. Survey USA's crosstabs are always screwy.
For example, I remember a Oregon primary poll where Obama trailed among 18-29 year old and led among 65+ year olds. Considering the two recent CNN and Rasmussen polls and the fact that the older polls were taken right after the Republican convention,I would need to see another poll show that before I even remotely believe it.
