I was only able to catch the first 20-25 minutes of the debate..
So, I was wondering, did Failin answer any of the rest of the questions with anything other than "Alaska/Energy"?? Because, I swear, for that first 20 or so minutes, that's all I heard out of her slack-jawed little mouth.

9. Most of my family lives in Minnesota.
Many of my relatives who have not traveled or received much education speak that way. But they know how to laugh at themselves. (Especially after the movie "Fargo").

I have a Midwestern accent myself. But I am not running for Vice President. If I was, I would have a speech coach.

I was not able to detect any kind of regional accent in Biden's speech. It is not a crime to have a regional accent. But anyone in the public eye should learn to minimize quirks so that they do not override the message. Bush used his odd accent to show his folksiness. That is what Palin is trying, too. It is getting tiresome.

10. She makes a "MinnesOOta" accent sound normal!
I'm an Iowan with Minnesotan heritage. Half of my family is in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and I love the state. I also like the Minnesotan accent.

Palin's accent isn't Minnesotan. It's a bad cross between North Dakotan and Deep South. It isn't charming; it's grating.

Any Alaskan DU'ers... is that how all Alaskans sound, or is it a fake accent like Dubya's "Texan drawl"?

that is, if all these post-debate polls and wraps I'm seeing now are an indication.

11. she ran out of stuff at the end
Her answers started getting very stump speech like. Basically the answer to every question was low taxes, victory, thousand points of light and a Reagan speech.
