Because her poor performance will be completely ignored and it will be round-the-clock speculation on what will happen regarding the economy etc.

No one will really care anymore about the debate, except for the bottom line that Biden outperformed Palin.

1. Her performance wasn't that bad on presentation, however on substance
Biden had it hands down

I don't think this debate will change anything, and it will be soon forgotten, especially becase the next

Presidential debate is Tuesday

3. Her "performance" was better as a whole than any of her answers, obviously.
At this point, anyone who didn't watch the debate is not going to get a real sense of her "folksiness" or whatever they want to call that bullshit she does. They are only going to get clips of their various answers and for the most part her answers were incoherent. I don't think it plays well at all in "dissected form" over the coming days.

2. But What about SNL?
Tina Fey has 90 minutes of material that will take the attention away from the bailout. Joe and Jane Six-Pack don't understand (or want to)how screwed the economy is and want to laugh (until they see their taxes go sky high).
