Why I support Dean.
I believe that any of the Dems would be able to beat Bush. But the only way to beat Bush is to stand up to him.

My older brother who is also a confirmed Democrat, once said that we need a Democrat with guts to stand up to Bush. Back in July of the year of darkness (2003), I was reading something about Dean. This was about how he was surging to the front of the pack. It talked about his anti-war stance and his willingness to take Bush head on. Furthermore, yes there is anger. Last year was a hard year for me to live through. Dean has managed to tap into my anger, which I believe is a righteous anger. Yes, like Bush, he can be aggressive, but we need to fight fire with fire and do everything, short of violating the Constitution to defeat Bush. I do like the other candidates (especially Clark, Kerry, and Kucinich), and will support any candidate that wins. But I think Dean will take Bush to task on everything that he has done wrong.

1. Same reason Dean's my second choice...I agree, Dean would do
everthing you say, I just think Wes Clark would do it better, with superior credentials. But that is just my opinion.

2. There is that too.
I understand. Clark is a general. If Dean was not in the race, I would wholehartedly be supporting Clark. He also has not been afraid to take Bush to task. I think that Dean captured my imagination and attention first.

3. I was listening to the NPR debates today
and I think that these questions about his "anger" are absurd. Someone needs to be angry about what Bush et al are doing. Lieberman's apologias for Bush... lets work with them.. blah, blah, blah... were very hard to accept and fit with many of the complaints I have heard here. Ordinarily I feel that collegiality is good, but not to the point of accepting every aspect of the Bush agenda.

4. Right.
Besides, I understand anger this year. Been there done that with this administration. We should have anger.

6. We should have anger
but it should be carefully expressed and pointed at specific abuses-not just a burning rage at the administration. Too few of our fellow Americans share our general rage.

5. Which supports the adage....
"If you're not angry, you're not paying attention."

7. and this is why
I support John Edwards. Not only does he stand up to Bush, but he also has the best set of ideas for improving the country.

It's not just about beating Bush. It's about beating Bush and then moving this country forward. Edwards' plans for education, health care, job creation, tax reform, foreign policy, Iraq, Israel, and much more just reinforce that not only can he take it to Bush, but he has a plan for what to do when the election is over.
