Let's talk about the map for a second...
...do you think this will change anything?

Since Palin came off better than she did in her Couric interviews--and let's be honest, it would have been near impossible to come off worse--I'm betting Obama's momentum stalls a little, but it will continue. McCain will not receive a bounce like he did after the convention.

Just don't freak out when McCain pulls even for a while in, say, Missouri and North Carolina. Even without these two, Obama's still way ahead.

1. Need to unleash the Clinton campaign machine
on the southern states, my Virginia among them. Clinton is great when he applies himself to a mission, brings back fuzzy memories of a strong economy, and southerners love him...

2. Nah. Palin didn't impress anybody.
She even pushed a few more Undecideds toward O-B. Look for the gap to widen 2 points in the next 3 days.

3. I disagree...I think all this debate did was to energize the base.
I dont think the indies will be impressed really. I think nothing at all will change. He will still lead in NC, and Missouri will remain a tossup.

6. The problem is McCain
McCain looks like a flailing, tired, dull-minded old man with no ethical center. Even if Palin had produced stigmata and had the Virgin of Guadalupe show up in her glasses, she still wouldn't help him. It won't even be a blip. The gravity dragging McCain down is going faster by the day.

7. I'm not sure it will even stall Obama's momentum
She didn't implode, and she looked better (most of the time) than she did with Couric, but Biden still won the debate, and I don't think she was anywhere near impressive enough to give people more reason to support McCain ...
