David Brooks - Palin was every bit Biden's equal - she held her own

Shields - Repubs are breathing easier, Dems are upset that she didn't implode. Saw something unlike anything we've seen - she was relentlessly colloquial and conversational. Question - does it appeal? Agreed no missteps (was hyperbole, on both sides) - Palin did it more. She got through it far better than people expected.

More - Brooks - agreed that the colloquial joe six pack stuff - will it work? sees it as authentic. did well at mentioning McCain all the time, Biden barely mentioned Obama (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was Brooks sleeping?)

Shields- was surprised Biden didn't tie her more to the Bush admin. (was surprised at how she threw Bush under the bus). No pause, no humor, relentless.
