to talk to her base, then by golly, gosh darn it, those voters
in third grade should be counted.

were running for student council.

Some major eye-rolling in the MG household on that one. I think I also stuck my tongue out at C-Span.

Way too many openly pandering moments like that out of her. Way WAY too fake.

33. Actually, I was flat out EMBARRASSED
We've had 8 years of Chimpy acting like a complete moron. I thought it could never be worse. But guess what? The Republican party has managed to find someone MORE embarrassing than Chimpy McCokespoon. I didn't think it was possible.

I was cringing through the entire debate with the thought that people over the world were watching this bimbo and saying, "Americans want to give her the VERY REAL CHANCE to be president?"

35. Eh... not 'brilliant', but
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 10:32 PM by jberryhill
...so much better than the usual:

"When you talk about health care, I think of Norma Tumor of Anytown, SwingState, who told me that she can't pay her bills."

"I think of our brave soldiers like Gomer Pyle, who I met in Anytown, SwingState who told me to 'let us win'."

It's not as tacky as that crap.

The upside is that there is a class of third graders somewhere who may be inspired to keep an eye on politics and the issues for the rest of their lives.

53. A more serious response.
While she tossed out an 'aw shucks' moment, clearly scripted and tailored as a folksy distraction, just ask yourself
how many of those third graders will be dead in 11 years from some war she would have us trip into,
or from a meth OD in her little village,
or unemployed in 20 years because they are too stupid to finish college,
or sick in 2050 because their creationist-trained doctors didn't get simple biology,
or finish out their foreshortened lives in a hellish misery when that most special state Alaska is squeezed dry, heated up, and left with a barren landscape.

58. Very Tacky-more like a stunt by a contestant in a reality show
than someone in a serious debate for an important position. It was just another example of the McCain-Palin ticket making a mockery of the office of the VP and laughing at the voters. "Hey we think you are so dumb that it doesn't matter if I waltz up here and don't take a single question seriously, but just put on some weird embarassing show." Very tacky...
