What the hell did she say exactly?

Edited...Ah, she was talking about his current wife, I thought she may have been talking about his dead wife.

2. I think she was talking about Jill, his current wife, and how she
deserves a place in heaven for being a teacher.

referring to Jill being a teacher. Condescending backhanded compliment if you ask me.

11. I was a teacher
Granted, it was for one whole year, but still. Yep, pay stinks and the shit teachers put up with on a daily basis from kids, parents, and school administration officials should earn them spots right beside St. Peter himself.

But I still thought she sounded condescending. ;)

she said that Biden's present wife would....
"get her reward in heaven" for her good work as a teacher. It was meant as a compliment.

4. If she said that about his first wife, I missed it.
I would have thrown something through the TV screen.

I did hear her say that Jill's reward (for being a teacher) will be in heaven, and I did not react well to her talking about Jill at all. That woman isn't fit to lick Jill Biden's shoes.

22. You got that right...
That was my response exactly...except mine included a stream of expletives that my eighth grade English teacher would have found distressing.

9. THIS IS IT: Palin referred to JILL'S being a teacher THIRTY YEARS, and, AS SUCH,
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 10:08 PM by WinkyDink
in an UNDER-APPRECIATED job, will "get her reward in Heaven."

IT'S A CLICHE', and though Palin was insensitive, she was not wittingly so.

19. I think the point of the saying is not about salary, but about just dealing with KIDS that long.
I'm a fellow 30-yrs-English-teacher.

10. That's not what she said.
She was using one of McCain's lame jokes about teachers. She praised Biden's wife being a teacher and that "her reward would be in Heaven."

Still an awful joke since his first wife is dead.
