Clark cannot win the general election
His support in the liberal northeast is too low, and the northeast is a vital part of the country.

It will keep me from wasting my vote next November on Clark.

Wes Clark. He will make an extraordinary American President.

16. He does have to get there first
But if he does I will support him.

He has not had had to deal with the full frontal assault that has been delivered to Dean of late. If in fact this recent poll is not the same sort of abberation the last one was, then I expect Clark has finally risen high enough to start drawing fire from the Washingtonians and the Punditocracy.

There is a significant drawback to a heavily detailed tax plan. It is just that much more to cut apart. I think we will soon see how well it and he holds up under fire.

Promises to be an interesting week.

mouth...

10. And Dean Can't win in the south
and blah blah blah. Isn't this stuff getting old. Clark doesn't take shots at Dean and Dean doesn't take shots at Clark so why must their supporters. Do you have a crystal ball? Have you talked to every single person in the northeast. When you can answer yes to either of these questions than come back and post your dribble.

15. Of course it's getting old. . .
. . . I just thought it would be interesting to see if the people who are accepting an argument for their candidate on one hand would accept a similar argument against theirs on the other hand. So far, the answer is Naaaaaah. . .

30. I don't get this
obsessions with polls. How can anyone possibly gauge how the majority is leaning when you only ask a few hundred out of millions. They make no sense and neither does anyone who puts any faith in them especially when undecided is really leading.

Right. :eyes:

And, the 3rd parties aren't strong enough to take the northeast...if that's what you're thinking.

32. Imagine Bush's commercials
That's why Clark can't win: the commercials Bush will run will feature glowing tributes to Bush and his team . . . by Clark. Oh, Clark can explain them away or try to, but it won't matter. He said it; he has to live with it. Question is: how much in pain will you be if you nominate him and then have to watch those commercials for months on end?
Clark can't win, and regional issues have nothing to do with it. Clark has only himself to blame for why he would get clobbered.

44. Absolutely. All Bush needs to do is. . .
. . . play Clark's glowing compliments of his team and policies and ask when Clark was lying -- then or now. Ouch.

Southerners may not vote for a northerner, but northerners definitely won't vote for a liar.

46. You want to take that risk.
We don't necesserily need the South. I think the goal should be taking Ohio and Missouri. Then hold.

I'm tired of letting the Republicans pick our canidates. The South should not have the final say in who are nominee is, in fact they have very little, if any. I think the key is ability to win those two and hold. Florida barring Jeb is a good idea too.
