McCain re Palin: "has more experience and leadership than senators Obama and Biden put together"

http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2008/10/mccain-has-tota.html

On CNN's American Morning a few minutes ago, Republican presidential nominee John McCain was asked if he has any concerns about running mate Sarah Palin's performances in the recent news media interviews she has done (such as this one with CBS Evening News' Katie Couric).

Said McCain: "I have total confidence in her. ... She has more experience and leadership than senators Obama and Biden put together."

For the record:

• Biden was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972. He is 65 years old. Biden chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and in the past has chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee.

• Obama was in the Illinois state Senate from 1996-2004. He has been in the U.S. Senate since then. Obama is 47.

• From 1992-2002, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, town council and was Wasilla's mayor for two terms. She has chaired Alaska Conservation Commission and was elected governor in 2006. Palin is 44.

2. This is getting comical.
Yesterday he said he seeks foreign policy advice from her.

Today he says this.

I'm scared to think about what he will credit her with tomorrow.

6. "She's so great, I only have to take half of a Viagra!"
Honestly, that would probably help him out more than the whoppers he's been tossing around lately.

7. It has gone beyond amusing,
it's just become utterly pathetic. Once upon a time, while I disagreed with his point of view, I respected McCain. Not anymore. He does not command one single shred of respect from me. Just pity.

9. nothing but the 100%, absolute truth, heh there Johnny?
I understood before why Obama would refrain calling him a liar to his face at the debate, but now I think he should do it just because it would clearly set him off into a fit.

13. Don't forget the PTA. Remember, McCain cited that as part of her experience.
Really. The PTA.

Wow.

Nothing against the PTA, but I don't recall any vote for the economy or sending American troops to foreign soil when I was on the PTA. Maybe I was part of a very inactive membership.

14. You know, I'm just tired of all this!
I woke up this morning and thought, "What kind of Veep candidate has to hide behind the presidential candidate as much as Palin has hid behind McCain? Think of it: Palin campaigns only with McCain at her side; Palin goes to McCain's ranch in Arizona for debate prep; Palin's comment about Pakistan, which mirrors Obama's, is retracted by McCain; McCain comes to the fore to explain confusing or questionable comments by Palin.

How the Hell can Palin be called on to lead the nation when McCain's not there?

This is just plain embarrassing and the f*cking press needs to call them on this!

This only the beginning. When the GOP beast begins to die, everything in the immediate radius is at risk. It's like a giant monster with a nuclear bomb for a heart, and the heart is hooked to a dead man switch.

27. McPanic loses more cred every time he says shit like that. Palin is a laughing stock
and McPanic is becoming more and more of a laughing stock for defending her "experience". No one is buying it... as evidenced by the polls.

28. I want that clip played hundreds of times. Johnny lying. Clearly and directly.
Just get it out there. Watch Johnny lie. You know he's lying. How does that look? Remember that stiff talking reassurance he's giving you. What other times does he look like that? He might be lying then too.

29. As much as I liked Monty Python this is even better! As clever as
the Smother Bros. were in their day with political satire, who could imagine the RNC had such a sense of humor? My only regret is that Johnny Carson didn't live to see this! My goodness, there would have been some monologues!
