It's late, and I'm thinking Inauguration

I'm picturing Barack Obama, taking the oath, a picture that will redefine this country forever.
I'm seeing a proud Michelle next to him.
I'm seeing those daughters.
I'm crying my eyes out.
I'm seeing a bunch of defeated Republicans.
W., haggard, confused and disinterested.
Bye.
A nation one part stunned, one larger part delirious, all parts at least privately amazed.
A world relieved and once again hopeful about this country.
I'm hearing a speech about restoring government to its necessary place in our lives.
A speech about all the work we all have to do.
A speech about the meaning of America.
A speech about rediscovery and renewal.
A speech that will rival the great inaugurals of time.
I'm thinking not much work will be done that Tuesday, but the thought of all this is worth is all the work in the world in the meantime.
OK, let's get back to it.

a maile lei his sister and grandmother sent him from Hawaii. OK, he doesn't have to wear it at the swearing in per se, but he can sport it at one of the parties afterwards. I just think it would look cool.

ETA: I was in Hawaii recently and watched the local primary coverage. All the candidates wore leis.
