Transient ischemic attack or a petti mal seizure...
http://www.americablog.com/2008/10/something-just-went-wrong-with-mccains.html

Anyone else talking about this?

Is McCain okay?

Someone posted at the link above that McCain could have had a petti mal seizure or transient ischemic attack and should have an MRI performed.

The video shows his face convulsing, then he gets all confused and can't find his way off stage.

I hope he's getting medical attention, I don't wish that on anyone.

Maybe this is old news, but I just heard about it.

Any DU'ers in the medical profession that can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

3. My first thought, upon seeing those selected frames,
was TIA, although it certainly could be epilepsy. Whatever it is, it isn't great news for McCain. There's also the possibility of metastatic melanoma setting up housekeeping in his brain.

4. Whatever it is, let's face it--McCain is being campaigned into the ground.
The stress of this campaign is hard for even a person of Obama's age and one who is in great shape. I don't believe McCain is up to this and he may have to look for other occasions to "suspend" his campaign, otherwise he won't make it to the final bell. He is on his way to having a meltdown in front of all America.

5. Has he had Shingles? My sister had it in her face,
Causing problems with one eye. Nerve damage is what I was thinking. I would not wish Shingles on anyone.

6. Looking @ the video, he has some sort of neurological problem with his face.
It looked like he was blinking and the nerves on that side of his face weren't reacting the same. What it is can't be diagnosed by watching a video but could range from a stroke to some sort of facial nerve issue. Speaking as a nurse who has been in the profession for a long time. He needs to release his med records and prove that it is nothing that affects his mind, only a cranial/facial nerve.

It's the old "either it is something bothersome but minor, or it's something serious" issue and IF it were something minor, it would be good for his campaign to release his med records to stop the speculation and rumors. IF they don't, we can either assume it is something major or that they are fools and it's difficult to tell which.
