"guarantee" is a strong word; yours isn't worth the pixels that form it.

2. Really?
You think she'll do well?

I think she'll be insulting and full of mockery and one-line put downs--and she'll deliver it
all like Gidget.

I am hoping that Biden is prepared to be insulted by a flibbertigibbet, and all of the disgust
that will come from standing next to someone who is a complete dolt--but insists on disparaging
and mocking the foreign policy credentials of himself and Obama.

I would be infuriated. However, if you know it's coming, you can plan countermeasures.

If Biden is expected dizzy goofball Sarah to show, he'll be knocked off guard.

10. It does not matter one bit whether she does well or falls on her face.
The media will still spin it the way the OP explains. Guaranteed.

31. All the media?
Quite frankly, I'm tired of the number of people who lazily throw this line out. Will Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow say she won? David Brooks, who's previously said she'll be luck to rise to the level of "mediocre"? Aren't they part of the media?

40. They may be "part of the media," but they aren't the media.
The bulk of the media is owned by activist conservative corporations who get more money from Republican tax cuts than from good reporting. These corporations use their media outlets as advertising departments for their parent corporations. Sure, they hire a couple of people they can point at as "diverse" from their main point of view, but the overall message is "vote Republican." You only have to look at the 2000 elections to prove this--the mainstream media continued to spread deliberate lies about Al Gore--the Internet, Love Canal, Love Story, etc--even after each and every one of the members of the media had been shown that these stories were lies. Same with the 04 election. Same with 92. Look up Joe Scarborough and Lauri Klausitus, and compare to Gary Condit and Chandra Levy, at the exact same time.

The conservative activism of the media is easily demonstrated.

3. There was no knockout blow. Palin came across as engaging. She communicated with the audience.
Biden seemed stiff and posed. You have to give her credit, she exceeded all expectations. She really helped her ticket tonight. Biden did nothing to hurt his ticket, but he missed an opportunity to take control of the election, and in that sense, maybe Governor Palin won this debate.

After watching enough of these things, you wonder why they even have them.

26. yeah, I'm the one who writes the story.
I just cut out cliches from previous debates and put them in a hat. Then I grab ABC letterhead, reach into the hat, and write down the first sentence I pull out. Then the second, and so one, until I have a speech. Then I put them all back in the hat and repeat for each network, so that the order changes. I also leave blank spaces for ad libs, so that Chris Matthews can throw in a sexist comment, for instance, or Bill O'Reilly can claim that he flew the first hurricane hunter into the eye of a hurricane.

It doesn't pay much, though. The networks don't consider writing a skilled position.

29. I'm thinking there are two ways she could screw up bad enough to get noticed.
One would be calling Obama a racial slur or threatening to assassinate him. Two would be breaking down into uncontrollable shakes and running from the stage shouting "How do I know what to do about the economy, I've already got mine and I don't give a damn about the rest of you!!"

In other words, as long as she doesn't say what she's really thinking, it will be hard for her to lose.

5. Yeah, just like how they said, "John McCain did exactly what he had to do tonight!" last Friday?
The pundits are actually more honest than we give them credit for (excepting the pure right wing shills, of course). They called the last debate mostly for Obama; even the ones who gave it to McCain thought that he didn't win by nearly enough, and actually calling a debate is a very subjective thing. A lot of us thought that McCain did better, too.

The only thing stopping them might be the fact they were so wrong last debate,
as the instant polling showed. They were a bit sheepish for a while but by the
next day, they were again saying it was a draw.

30. Someone posts this at least once a day, but I don't agree
This is not the Bush/Rove operation. They knew how to cultivate the media. McCain's media strategy has been avoidance, with the occasional insult. Yeah, the corporate boards that own the media are probably still pulling for McCain (though the way the economy is going...), but lower down the food chain, she is just not that popular.

Plus, they care about their own ratings and egos too. You can be sure that more than a few of them have noticed her increasingly clear status as national laughingstock.

32. She does not help McCain anymore - McCain is now the focus
When McCain took the stage to try and "save the economy" he knocked his distraction off the podium - she wont be back no matter how hard he tries. He screwed up big time in more ways than one with that (not only did he put the focus on the economy and his lack of leadership there he took the focus off his beard...).

I'm of a different mind. I think she's going to be subtly ridiculed by the MSM in the next days news cycle. I've been inferring a distaste for her combination of arrogance and stupidity by the MSM this week.

However, as I'm not a Southern Baptist Preacher, a Fortune Teller, or absolutely sure of anything these days, I offer no guarantees.

Norah - "She was amazing, and beautiful"

Eugene - "uh, well, I'm not so sure, what about the Allies question when she said Prime Minister Thatcher could help us, or saying that people should withdraw the money from the banks and give the money to the churches?"

Chris - "Off to commercial, man are they Mavericks Love EM!"
