N.C. voter registration smashing records *** 603,000 new voters ***
Of 603,000 new voters, 48% are Democrats, 21% are Republicans, nearly a third are independents.

African Americans, who make up about 22 percent of the state's population, account for more than 30 percent of new voters.

Five counties – Mecklenburg, Durham, Forsyth, Guilford and Wake – account for more than a third of all new registrations.

Nearly 210,000 new voters are 18 to 24. Only one in five registered Republican.

Obama has dramatically outspent McCain here, pouring more than $2.5 million into TV ads, including $750,000 in the Charlotte market since August. His visit Saturday to Greensboro was his second to the state in a week. Over the weekend, Obama volunteers knocked on 107,000 N.C. doors.

McCain has announced no plans to come to the state.

2. NC is filling up with people from
blue collar states. I know of 3 families from MI that just moved there. All are Dems.

5. I firmly believe that THIS year, all these new voters are also motivated new voters
not just registering because "oh well, I got to do it when I renewed my license"
but registering because they WANT to vote and they WANT to be a part of electing this man to be president.

I have been saying this since I had to stand in line for 45 minutes to vote in our primary, at the end of the day, in a small precinct, after 2 weeks of early voting had already set record turnout.

7. Yep! I seriously think a record number of dems are going to show up...
...I don't think any Dem wants to miss out on this historic opportunity. We all want to be able to tell stories on how we help saved America. :)

6. McCain is going to be sorry he took NC for granted...
the outcome of the Presidential election may be called relatively early this time.
