Why Obama will win, when Kerry couldn't... It was Vietnam
Seriously, it was the Vietnam factor that lost it for Kerry. He did not blow the election by waiting too long. It was Vietnam.

And it was not just the baby boomer's, it was the generation down who did not actually live it. They were more prone to the rhetoric of the rabid right, and re writing history.

But now we do not have to fight that again. Oh John McCain is trying, but I think we have finally put that battle to rest.

It has taken almost 50 years to put that behind us, and finally get back on track.

This is why Senator Obama is reaching an audience that some are having a hard time understanding how he did it. They are so used to the Vietnam cycle being the back story on all elections, that they end up with egg on their faces every single time when it comes to predictions on Obama.

And this includes our old friend Brokaw, he is still in that mind set also. Just think about the talking heads who cut their teeth during that time period. Almost to a man and woman, they have been wrong on how this election was going. They see everything in that cycle.

By the way, I am a boomer and proud of it :hi:

1. I don't think so.
I think it was Bush's lies, the attorney scandal, election fraud, media complicity, and vote suppression.

2. That too.. I am not denying that,
But I am amused at the talking heads, who just are digging themselves holes in the ground, because they are used to that back story.

They did not come out and take on those lies the Bush people told, because of their own history and fear of the right wing lie machine.

3. Baloney - 5 million Democratic votes were rejected, purged or outright stolen in 2004 thanks to
the worst DNC chair our party ever had. McAuliffe let the RNC and GOP officials gain near total control of the election process at every level where the votes are allowed, cast and counted and in so many states whose Dem party infrastructures were left to collapse since the mid90s - states he continued to ignore throughout his four year stewardship.

Kerry won. RNC stole that election for Bush and McAuliffe's DNC sat on their hands and LET THEM DO IT for the entire four years.

5. Kerry would have won easily this year. Obama would have lost by ten points in 2004.

6. Well voting for a 3rd term of Bush
is a lot harder than voting for a second term of Bush -- even for the yahoos who did vote for the second term of Bush. I mean, Obama has a monumentally easier task than Kerry did.
