VP Debate - Gwen Ifill as moderator
Does anyone think that the marketing for her new book “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.” could turn viewers against Biden? Will it be a plus for him as long as the general public isn't aware or do you think most people wouldnt care?

1. Doesn't really matter.
She can maintain journalistic integrity and FUX news will spew shit no matter who the moderator is. Biden will not suffer because of it.

2. Not if it is a journalistic look at a historical phenomenon and not a puff piece
that is strictly pro-Obama (or perceived that way). I doubt if it is slanted toward Obama. She's a working journalist and wouldn't want to sacrifice her cred. It wouldn't make sense and could end her career...

It's funny how he doesn't mention Brokaw!

15. Not surprising that he doesn't understand journalists can be impartial...
And, you know...ethical.

4. lol. sorry, this won't hurt Biden one little bit.
Most people won't give a shit that Ifill has written a book that isn't even due to be published until January 2009.

5. what matters is her performance
at the debate. What about Brokaw silencing those he thinks aren't conservative enough on MSNBC?

7. Huh??
Why would it? You're assuming it's a campaign piece simply cheering for Obama.

8. Most people have no idea she has a book coming out.
Heck, the average Joe Sixpack American doesn't even know who she is.

I heard on Rachel's show that Ifill broke her ankle yesterday but will be at the debate.

9. she'll probably be tougher on Biden because of it
because she knows people are making an issue out of it and wants to make sure people don't think she's playing favorites.

But it won't affect the debate imo. Biden can handle the toughest of questions and Palin can bobble the easiest softballs Ifill might lob at her.

11. Do you think Brokaw's warrior-worshipping book & McC advocacy will turn off viewers?
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 07:45 AM by WinkyDink
Or are you just pushing the RW view today?

13. For my part, I wish Ifill had refused the moderator job from the beginning.
Appearances, right-wing echo chamber, 'Palin never had a chance'...
