Poll question: A VERY DIFFICULT POLL:
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 11:39 PM by RoadRage
Which of the "answers" (or NON-answers if you prefer) did Sarah Palin give to Katie Couric in her interview that is the most idiotic?

I did not include all of the above, because that's obviously the choice that would get all of the answers.. that's why this is a very "DIFFICULT" Poll.. you actually have to choose one.

And state your reason below!

1. Other: "Do you still do Crystal Meth?, Yes or No?"
How would she answer that one?

4. Well.. i'd answer it "I've never done Crystal Meth - why do you ask"..
But that's just me. Or, if an option was available.. i'd just not answer it at all. Which is always a choice here at DU!

2. A five year old wouldn't try seeing Russia from their porch as foreign policy experience
This is one of the worst answers to any questions ever, made worse by aggressively sticking with it.

Getting back on something that is the thrust of your argument is super weak but perhaps a little less lame due to candor.

3. While picking just one piece of gibberish is hard, I went with
"I'll find some examples of McCain being for Regulation, and get back to ya"

I picked this one because I have never heard someone sound so out of their league and look so condesending and helpless all at the same time. It was truly a memorable piece of television, one that will provide us (the rational, thinking world,) with laughter for quite a long time to come.

7. Yeah.. that really is one of my favs.. but I had to go with
The newspaper choice. Only because it's by far the EASIEST question she had.. hands down. Any 8 year old could reasonably answer it.. "I like to read sports illustrated with my daddy on the weekends, and sometimes I get the weekly reader from school and that's fun to read too".

But, yet, after 3 prompts.. Gov. Palin could not utter ONE newspaper or magazine that she reads. So, she's either A) Illiterate B) Terrified to let the public know what she REALLY reads or C)

C left blank.. because I can't come up with another reason as to why in the world she couldn't answer that tee-ball of a question.

5. if you're asking for the stupidest response.......
...my favorite was the one where she was trying to rationalize her foreign policy experience based on their close proximity to Russia.

She first said that Alaska had trade agreements with Russia (I later found out that was a lie), then she said something about seeing Putin's head and then added 'and where are they going to go?'

It was basically a string a fragmented phrases and each one had no relation to the others! Wow! What an airhead!!

but at the same time, i really hope you're right.

Could you possibly imagine anything more idiotic then what she's already stated? Although the newspaper question wouldn't have even been on anyones radar.. and yet - there it was. :eyes:

9. I chose the "second guess Israel" one because it sounds remarkably like...
the statement said by that one Congressman in the 1980s:

"I'm not going to speculate on that speculation, because to speculate on that speculation would invite further speculation on the speculation that I speculated about."

10. First place: "I'm not going to solely blame all of man's activities on changes in climate."
And a very close second: "When you consider even national security issues with Russia, as Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where — where do they go? It's Alaska."

12. I chose the newspaper bombshell. It is a full-throated lie and show's she is incompetent perhaps
literate even. The infamous "Russia" and "Putin in Alaska's airspace" will go down in history though.

That God-awful one on the economy that Tina Fey just copied-that one where she starts rambling on about health -care reform and as Fareed Zakaria put it every other bit of "verbiage" she could think of connected to the economy :D.

I forgot it. I'll add it now.. it'll need a few votes to catch up. Luckily, this isn't scientific. ;)

revealing but that one is simply so lunkheaded and really lays bare her fear of shat she's gotten into.

You really made me sweat trying to choose the best answer. GODDAMMIT, WHY IS THERE NO ALL OF THE ABOVE OPTION!??

Seriously, so hard to pick which one is worst. You should probably add an option that says: Sarah Palin's next fucked up answer. Because I guarantee you that she's gonna, against all odds, give an answer that's even worse than the answer before that.

30. I thought about that.. but to bible thumping republicans..
that probably came across as a good answer. I just wanted to post all of the answers that any logical republican would look at and say "OMFG what the hell is she talking about". So, all of her very questionable "moral" stances were left out, because they give her wiggle room.

Plus, there was only 10 lines.. and I used 9 of 'em with really stupid answers that didn't even come close to being partisian. Wow. Just Wow.

When asked if surprising statement that we should get Georgia into NATO and use the full military force Of the US and its Nato allies to confront a nuclear super power and that this could lead to war she glibly responded,

"Possibly So"

34. I chose the healthcare answer
So many choices, but the "bailout needed to save healthcare" one really nails the sound bite nature of her thinking...if you really squint hard and empty your mind, you can almost attribute the others to "gaffes", but to nonsensically link two of the biggest challenges facing us when in fact we know she (and the repubs in general) don't link them just angers me. Yeah, throwing 700 billion at wall street is going to make it harder to socialize medicine, but they think that is a good thing.
