McCain Campaign Soliciting Trolls to Invade Web Site Forums
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 09:32 PM by chicagoexpat
Wonder why there's so many threads here promoting the Republican causes -- y'know, like

* stirring up how the Clintons hate Obama (Or Obama fans hate the Clintons)

* Raising false issues in Obama's strategy or ads ("Look! Why does Obama have an ad that says he wants to blow out the sun?")

* Throwing up the Republican side of things "in the interests of Democratic debate" (think, the Freeper line on the current economic crisis -- and attacks on anyone who tries to support Obama, Pelosi, Reid on these issues)

* Etc., etc., etc.

Well, as the Republicans lose more & more standing across the board, these trolls from states that McCain has given up on have more times to invade other sites & follow the McCain strategy:

From Huffington Post:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/20/mccain-campaign-comment-t_n_102696.html

Wishing you could be a campaign surrogate, but don't have a national platform? Do you find blogging your own opinions tedious? Wish you could have someone tell you what to think during this political season? Well look no further than John McCain's new blog outreach!

That's right; the McCain camp wants to recruit online supporters and activists to serve as comment trolls. From their website:

Help spread the word about John McCain on news and blog sites. Your efforts to help get the message out about John McCain's policies and plan for the future is one of the most valuable things you can do for this campaign....Select from the numerous web, blog and news sites listed here, go there, and make your opinions supporting John McCain known. Once you've commented on a post, video or news story, report the details of your comment by clicking the button below.

Now, don't worry if you've never heard of a blog, or never written a comment, or heck, even used a computer. Because not only does the campaign tell you on which blogs to comment -- Redstate for right-wingers, Daily Kos for progressives (sorry HuffPo fans, we didn't make the list) -- it will even tell you what to say! Just click on the Blog Interaction page for "Today's Talking Points."

You might be thinking, "What's in it for me?" As a matter of fact, for every comment the McCain verifies, you will awarded McCain Action Center. Which is important, because in Fantasy Land 2013, those things will replace the dollar as American currency.

6. Action Center?? Last time I looked it was quite the NONaction center
Did a search for stuff within my zip code....there was a small handful of first debate watching parties being held at different people's private homes. That was it. Nothing else.
Zoom over to Obama's local event search, type in my zip, oh gosh , look at that, 50+ activities to pick from (within a 15 mile radius of my zip) organized by the grassroot folks around here: phone banking, block walks, TONS of voter registration drives, debate watching parties (some in homes, some in restaurants/sports bars..including the one I went to that had 180-185 people signed up to attend).

Maybe Mclame needs to rename his with "Troll Action Center", especially since Tweety called him a TROLL on national TV after the last debate.

McTroll and his Trollettes!!!

7. Note to people reading this incredibly stupid OP:
The poster's objective is to make you believe that the DUers who have come out against corporate bailout are trolls who were sent here to destroy Barack Obama.

10. The most rabid right-wing elements are in the White House.
You know -- the people with whom you've linked arms.

After all these years, how is it that you somehow missed that?

21. I haven't been paying attn to DU on this particular issue
Which side to I have to be on to be lining up with the right wing, and which side is lining up with "us"?

If the Republicans change their tack, do I have to switch my opinion?

Because God forbid I'd be on the "wrong" side, rather than reading the economists and other folks I trust (Friedman, Buffet, friends who work in the money industry and live and breathe this stuff every day) and coming to my own conclusions.
