Can anyone explain to me why Andrea Mitchell...
is still covering the election for NBC?

Now that the economy has become issue one, wouldn't it be prudent for
NBC to side line her? After all, a GREAT argument can be made for her husband being one of the main reasons we are in this predicament.

They side lined Maria Shriver for simply marrying the Governator.

1. I think Maria decided to stop on her own.

2. You may be right about that, she might have had the class to
step away on her own.

12. As I recall,
I think it was more of NBC's decision. Its been a long time though, so I looked it up on Wikipedia and "On February 3, 2004, Shriver was told by NBC she was to be 'relieved of duties at NBC News,' citing the conflict of interest between her role as a journalist and her status as the First Lady of California and her increasing role as an advocate of her husband's administration."

13. Very interesting considering they allow Mitchell to run roughshod.

3. No, I can't explain it to you.
Maybe they don't know she's married to Alan Greenspan. Or maybe they just think nobody else knows.

4. I actually like Andrea Mitchell, but I couldn't agree with you more.
It's almost embarassing to watch her on tv knowing she is married to someone who helped create the situation we are in now.

7. I like her when I forget that she's Mrs. Greenspan
But that's hard to do particularly these days.

I don't particularly like the fact that she's such an entrenched Washington insider and on the A list. Good friends with Condi -- that in itself is a problem for me.

The ideal Washington correspondent or bureau chief should have no such chummy friendships with decision makers and power brokers. No sending kids to the same ritzy schools, either.

5. I had the same question ~ she should wear a badge
I sent MSNBC an email....

Andrea Mitchell GREENSPAN should wear a badge.

My husband helped get us into this mess.
His name is Alan Greenspan, does that name ring a Bell?

I also told them that MIKA needs a badge too.

They are all crooks.

9. Absolutely and they should sideline David Gregory as well.
His wife worked as Fannie Mae's general counsel until September 2008. A bit of a conflict there as well.

10. They should sideline him simply because he's a neocon douchebag
Which was true long before I knew who his wife was.
