REGISTER~VOTE; I answer and nothing there even after waiting several seconds.

Phone number is 310-599-5733. I checked PhoneOwnerInfo and see that a few other AZers have gotten the same.

I KNOW I'm registered and so is Mr. B@L. Am I neurotic or paranoid? AZ is pretty safely red (dammit), so what's up with this, if anything?

1. Check your voter registration--many have been disenfranchised w/o notice
becasue of the stringent requirements of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA)

My husband's voter reg was dropped off the role, because the name on his driver's license (his given name,) did not match the name on his SS# card (a common nickname)

Now he is struggling to get that error straightened out before Nov, and it requires a notarized birth certificate from Wisconsin.

25% of our state has been affected, apparently.

2. 310 is a West Los Angeles number
Dad of Symarip has the same area code. Do a google search on the number.

3. I have; several others are getting the same call according to PhoneOwnerInfo.
Same MO with each--several seconds and no response.

Weird.

4. http://whocalled.us - Hands down the best site to find out if others have been...
...getting similar calls. Enough people use this that whenever I get a call that I don't know, I just go there, type in the number and almost always there are at least 3 people who've reported their experience with the caller.

SO incredibly useful.

5. I checked my caller ID log and I got a call from Vote in November
on 9/25 at a similar number.... 310-599-5747

I didn't answer it. I just assumed it was an automated call asking me to vote.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

7. I see on PhoneOwnerInfo that a few AZers have gotten the same.
I just checked Mr and my own registration and both are solid and I don't see the republicans trying anything goofy here, really.

9. CHECK! My wife got a letter telling her to make sure she sent
her new address or she might not be able to vote. We have been living at the same place for nearly 14 years now, have no plans to move.
She called, and can still vote if she brings photo ID.
