Republicans KNOW that the base isn't happy with Pelosi. But this latest ploy to blame her for failing to pass the bailout bill is ridiculous. And they are counting on your dissatisfaction with Pelosi to divide us in order to gain back more seats this fall. It's that simple. Don't fall for it. Boehner failed to know where his members were. The bottom line is REPUBLICANS ARE PLAYING POLITICS WITH THE ECONOMIC STABILITY OF THIS NATION. It's just that plain and simple.
7. I don't think Boehner is making the claim that it's Democrat's (or Pelosi's) fault
But the GOP House members who voted against it are. They are calling out a speech Pelosi made this morning as their reason, which is utter rubbish and not to mention whiny.
I only caught bits while working, but it seems he thinks that she took their manhood (she spoke @ the *ush policies tieing into the economic mess on the floor before the vote).
8. Whatever their ulterior political motives, I'm glad the Repubs stopped,
or at least slowed this thing. There has to be a better way than giving more money to the extortionists in and near the White House. Our representatives almost gave these guys another blank check.
11. Do you feel that the crisis itself is a political ploy? Banks do seem to
failing, and the energy crisis is having ripple effects that are wrapped up in this as well. I don't claim to have a complete understanding of this bill or the technicalities of the bank failures, but I don't trust that this administration does either. I don't trust them period.
