1. 22% is the worst drop in history
Let's keep this in perspective.

4. seriously. We're at 7% and it's hit a floor. Tomorrow it'll be up 4%
as investor pile in to buy up undervalued stocks. Stocks are valued in the LONG RUN not this shortterm panics

5. Uh, no it won't
Unless there is major movement in Congress. But we don't have to add to the panic either. 7% is pretty stomach churning - and I don't have any money in the market, or any money I could invest in the market if I were inclined to do that anyway.

8. It could go up 4%
It could drop 8%.

I don't think anybody really knows.

6. Right and wrong, I guess.
22% was the worst percentage drop, I agree, but the OP was talking about the point drop. The 22% drop was made when the DJIA was much lower, so it was a smaller point drop.

But you are right, perspective helps.

7. *sigh*
Yeah. I know.

The reason we're having record point drops is because the value of the DOW is so much higher.

There's no comparison on a point basis, it's worthless.

Obviously.
