The Democrats delivered the amount of votes they promised

The democrats delivered 141 votes one more than they promised.


The Republicans didn't. They needed and had agreements with the Republicans
that this needed to be a bi-partisan bill and they would deliver that percentage
of votes.

Blame Republicans.

However, today Republicans failed to deliver the 70-100 votes needed from conservatives for the deal to pass. On the Republican side, 133 lawmakers voted against the bill; just 65 voted for it.

If the McCain campaign was willing to take credit for the success of the bill, does McCain also deserve credit for its failure?

4. That in itself is too easy of an argument to turn around.

They can just reply that Democrats are the majority and should have no problem finding votes.

Your response seems more like the response from a minorty party.

They can be hit over the head for abandoning the bill because Pelosi "hurt their feelings" more effectively IMO.

This was a bipartisan bill and the repukes really screwed up today. I didn't like the bill, but now look what has happened to the markets.:-(
