She doesn't know two whits about governing and doesn't even give a tenth of a fuck that anyone even cares. She pulls "facts" out her ass with all the aplomb of Houdini, but the Republicans have never lets the facts stand in the way of a good myth.

All she has is a high degree of schoolmarm styled cynicism.

If they "free" Sarah Palin that's what they'll see... And of course, the Right will love her for it. "The old Sarah Palin is BACK!"

For her smarting remarks, she'll appear as if she's a "strong debater" and looks "firm".

Of course, she'll fall into a morass of babble when she's not being snarky. Expect the pundits on the right to pretend that she's speaking English.

They've been doing that with Bush for seven years; what's to stop them now?

Her fans will insist that honey and gold flowed from her thin lips and angels protected her from harm. Her God-given gift of snark saved the day.



Despite all of this, anyone not spewing or swallowing the bullshit will say that Sarah Palin was a complete disaster and Joe Biden beat her so hard he should be arrested for domestic abuse.

People want substance in the debates. Being a snarky asshole will not gain any points for her. She'll look desperate and with out substance. The talking heads will say she got some good snark, but said little and has nothing to offer. You can be snarky and hallow in TV commercials and sound bites, but not in the debates. The people hold the candidates up to a higher standard in the debates.

she'll probably ignore Biden altogether. Her job is 100% to insult and diminish Obama for the pleasure of the base, not to reassure undecideds that she knows anything or is ready to be VP/Prez (they're giving up on that)--she just needs to reassure her fans that she's still all that and a bag of chips so they won't get discouraged by her recent stupidity.

These debates aren't really debates. Each person states their position. They do respond to each other though. In order for Palin to respond to Biden she'll have to be very clear on her position AND his position. She will have to understand what he is saying, and that's something she can't be coached on prior to the debate because they don't know what he will bring up. Some of the differences on positions are very subtle. That's the clincher. She's been totally vague on everything so far.

8. Let her try that approach

Suits me fine if that's how she wants to handle the debate. She can do that once before Biden shoots her down, fast. All he has to say is this, in response to any statement she makes that is sarcastic:

"My opponent my not consider the current situation very serious, but I do. This issue directly impacts the average American family's ability to live their lives with dignity and respect. I believe that it requires sound, thoughtful consideration, not a sarcastic soundbyte that does nothing to explain the ideas and efforts required for solutions. I don't consider this issue a laughing matter."

She'd be slammed to the floor in an instant. Following that statement, anytime she tries to make some snide comment she'd look like a laughingstock. The only people left defending her would be idiots and bullies, and they will anyway, so they don't matter anyway.

10. I think this is a unique situation...

...that can't be measured by the past, since we have never had anyone run for high office who is this dumb and unqualified, and add to that the drama that surrounds her, troopergate, etc. This is not just a few slip ups like spelling "potatoe"...this is serious ineptitude. I think even republicans are scared. I don't think anyone is going to be satisfied if she does a "little bit better". I think she is going to have to prove that she is not dangerously ignorant. She needs to be serious, smart and presidential. A snarky attitude and cutesy demeaner is not going to calm anyones doubts.

Despite her lack of intellectual prowess, she has a smart mouth

Apparently, she's aggressive

Minuses:

The GOP's faithful are NOT the majority, they're a fringe sect of lunatics

She's a stupid, closed mined, vindictive bitch, and most people don't like stupid, closed mined, vindictive bitches

She's in WAAAAAAAAY over her tostled head in the deep side of the pool

Her aggression will force her to play directly into Biden's hands

When she doesn't understand the subject matter, she makes no sense
