Todd Palin complains about wife's separation from family...
Well... DUH, Todd! Did you think the vice-presidency (and campaigning for it) was a part-time job? DId you wake up and notice that you are the primary caregiver for your 4 kids at home, including a special-needs infant? And you can't even dump them on relatives because the world is watching (and judging) you by demonstrations of parental responsibility? What the f*ck were you thinking this was going to be like? Schmuck.

OK, the focus of the article is about McCain strategy for Palin's debate prep, but this tidbit about her husband's discontent jumped out at me:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122265784614384667.html

Additionally, at the urging of the Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, Gov. Palin will leave late Monday for his Arizona ranch to prepare for the high-stakes debate.

The moves follow several shaky performances by Gov. Palin last week and come amid concern and grumbling from Republicans, and even a few queries from her husband, Todd Palin, according to campaign operatives and Republican officials.

<snip>

For his part, Mr. Palin has worried about the frequent separation of his wife from her family, friends and Alaska staff, an adviser said. Accordingly, her family will be with her in Sedona during this week. Also, a key Alaska staffer joined the Palin operation Sunday.

Meanwhile, the more experienced advisers assigned to her by the McCain campaign are accustomed to working with seasoned candidates, not someone "completely green on the national stage," one strategist said. Several Republican backers have griped that the campaign has put the candidate in difficult situations, from sitting for high-profile television interviews to popping into meetings with foreign leaders, some of whom made sexist remarks, said several officials.

58. I thought the same thing
After listening to Kathleen Parker just now on NPR's "Talk of the Nation" calling for her to step down, and with Palin's pathetic performances on ABC and CBS, I think they may well be laying the groundwork for her exit. They've really screwed up this time. If she stays or if she leaves, McCain's judgment will be called into question. Checkmate.

My right-wing religious nuttery sister said it was our responsibility as wives to cleave unto our husbands, then she proceeded to make incredibly selfish decisions that put her family into mortgage jeopardy. Now I go on the internet to find out that it's the husband who is required to cleave unto his wife. That means, Mr. Palin is not being a good Christian.

If they dump her now her name would still be on the ballot. Electors would have to vote for the replacement in December. Some undoubtably would revolt and stick with Palin. McCain can't take that chance because if he were to win a cliffhanger he might end up with Joe Biden as his VP if the election of the VP were thrown into the house.

How does it feel Todd? How does it feel to have your love one jerked around from venue to venue? You can't always get a hold of her and you worry about her and her safety. She gets sent out wherever McCain's people think she's needed most and sometimes it doesn't work out that well. But at least, she'll come home.

Yeah, she might end up with some PTSD from her time as a national candidate but don't worry. People are only pointing cameras at her when they shoot. They aren't pointing guns. And, believe me Todd, she's as protected as McCain was when he out shopping for rugs with Lindsey and Joe.

In the end, your family won't have anything to worry about. Fox News and the GOP will take care of her.

There is going to be separation. And she doesn't even campaign that much, at least by herself. I don't hear Jill Biden complaining about Joe not being around enough. This is too funny. I know she has young kids. I do to but my husband works 2 jobs and I stay home with the kids. That is what it means to be the stay at home Dad while the wife has the bigger better job.

The ‘PENTECOSTAL HOLINESS CHURCH OF CHRIST, Inc.' doctrine
Written as inspired by God, by Bishop Eric L. Gales, D.D.
Presiding Bishop, Founder, Chief Apostle, and Chairman of the General Board;
Founder & Pastor, The Lord's Tabernacle PHCOC

MARRIAGE: The Bible teaches that marriage is a holy and sacred union created by God and is not to ever be taken lightly. The Word of God teaches that marriage is a union between MAN and WOMAN - not exceptions to this - and that the two are to become one flesh. The Bible gives only one allowance for divorce (fornication); however, this should NEVER be the case with Christian couples. The marriage union is meant to be a lifetime commitment and a spouse should be chosen with Gods guidance. Sex is ONLY permitted within an official, legal marriage (God does not recognize "common-law") and is for both the satisfaction of both the male and his female partner and for creating children. The Bible also teaches, under God's order, that the husband is the head of his wife and to rule his household as Christ rules the church. The wife is to be submissive to her own husband as the church is to submit unto Christ.<\b> However, the husband is to love and protect his wife as Christ does His church and likewise is the wife to love her own husband as the church ought to love Christ. (Gen 2:21-25; Matt 5:27-28, 5:31-32, 19:3-12; Mark 10:1-12; 1Cor 7:1-40; Romans 7:1-4; Eph 5:22-33; Col 3:19; 1Pet 3:1-7).

47. Obviously the Palins did not discuss the impact her decision would have on the family.
Poor judgement; poor parenting.

Total saracasm, but with all those family values in place, you'd think he would have realized this.

74. mudflats blog notes a seed has been planted...

http://www.themudflats.net/

Rarely do things actually make me laugh out loud, alone in a room…especially the Wall Street Journal. But, there’s a first time for everything.

(clearing throat and trying to be serious)

Apparently Republicans have figured out what Palin’s problem is, and what she needs to do to bolster her plummeting poll numbers. I DARE you to keep a straight face.

Some prominent Republicans and senior members of Congress have expressed worries about certain facets of the Palin campaign, particularly that Gov. Palin may be “overprepared” and not encouraged to be herself, an adviser said.

And, the same article plants the seed for the “need to spend more time with my family” excuse that some are starting to think may be the excuse used to mark the end of her candidacy if things tank after the debate.

“For his part, Mr. Palin has worried about the frequent separation of his wife from her family, friends and Alaska staff, an adviser said.”

Ahhh…Todd is not pleased.

But, back to the debate on Thursday… Here’s the strategy we can expect.

“It’s time to let Palin be Palin — and let it all hang out,” said Scott Reed, a Republican strategist. Yes, enough of that”overprepared” rigid Palin who lets none of her personality escape. Go ahead….let it all hang out. I’ve got my popcorn.

80. While Mrs. Palin is busy campaigning and...
...cramming for her big final exam on Thursday night, Mr. Palin is stuck in hotel rooms. I bet he doesn't read much so that leaves TV. I don't think watching TV is too much fun for him these days.

Anybody remember that "Seinfeld" where George gets smarter due to lack of sex, Elaine gets dumber with no sex...I think. That could explain Palin's dumbness. Too much or too little.

92. Notice they are now trying to deprogram her
The campaign is sending in Sen. McCain's debate coach, Brett O'Donnell, to help with her preparation, advisers said. Though he always was expected to help out after Sen. McCain's debate Friday in Oxford, Miss., Mr. O'Donnell now needs to "undo" much of her previous debate prep, which has resulted in occasional "rote" responses, one adviser said.

"We've got four days," another adviser said Sunday. "People love Sarah Palin and she's got a unique personality and presence we need to bring out -- not shut down." Aides will work with her this week to be certain her responses use "her words," this adviser said.

From OP article. Oy Vey!
