Palin in 'debate camp' until Thursday
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 08:55 PM by RedEarth
(CNN)– Gov. Sarah Palin will now spend two and a half days near Sedona, Arizona, to prepare for Thursday's debate, instead of prepping in St Louis, as originally planned.

Sarah Palin will be at John McCain's rustic creek side home outside Sedona for what a top aide calls "debate camp."

The aide, who's part of the team prepping Palin, tells CNN they decided to take her to debate camp there because it is an "invigorating and enjoyable place to prepare for Thursday."

"SP loves it and has her kids and Todd coming," wrote the aide in an email.

The aide said "John McCain himself came up with the idea after thinking it would be great before his next debate.

Pailin has already been hunkered down for four days in a Philadelphia hotel for debate prep with advisers.

She will take a short break Monday to attend a rally with McCain in Ohio, before heading to Arizona.

1. It won't help for two reasons-
1) You can't cram for a debate against someone as worldly as Biden.
and
2) There is no cure for stupid.

12. So she's taking a pre-slaughter debate field trip.

Good. Biden shouldn't let his guard down, but he should also just fucking crush Palin in short order.

Obama won the first debate, and it is time for Biden to knock team McCain into the ditch.

Just keep them reeling and off balance.

24. The thing about Biden...
...is his voice and demeaner. He could read a Dr. Suess book and sound authoritive and dignified.

A debate is an arguement, a back and forth exchange. She will not only have to learn her positions, but she'll have to be familar enough with Obama/Biden positions in order to disagree with them and state why.

The VP debate will be... interesting.

13. Guys and gals, Palin having her kids and TAAAHD there won't help.
In the debate, all information she's cramming in will either be inaccessible or come spilling out in an incomprehensible blob.

17. Wish this fit on a bumper sticker!
"That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it's got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and getting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade -- we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We've got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation." Sarah Palin

15. Mean while Joe is practicing how to not laugh and keep a straight face
when hearing her horrible answers. Rove tactics will entail making Biden look like he was belittling her. As long as Biden keeps a poker face he is sure to be called the winner by all sources.

...when she gets something wrong.

Goon: Who is the leader of Russia!?

Palin: Uh... er... Nikoli Volkoff?

Goon: WRONG! *SMACK*

23. How Sad
I don't feel even the least bit sorry for Palin, who is a malicious fool and would, I have no doubt, throw us all in jail for our beliefs if she could get away with it.

But, imagine for a minute you're her (I know, barf!). Everyday, you wake early and have to look your haggard face in the mirror. You get it together enough to leave the bedroom, and a group of brusque, expensive-suit wearing sharks start in on you: "what is John McCain's position on taxes?" "how many troops are in Iraq?" and on and on and you don't know any of the answers and so you just say whatever you think they want to hear and you still get it so WRONG that you can hear the disgust building in their voices. They tape you, and coach you, and berate you, even. But it's no use. You take frequent breaks, but during every pause the sharks are on their phones, calling their bosses and telling them -- quietly but still within earshot -- how stupid and hopeless you are. And then, they fly you across the country to John McCain's Sedona house, a place so opulent and bedecked with the trappings of permanent wealth that you can't even really imagine as someone who clawed her way into the ranks of the vulgar rich and powerful but can never, ever be accepted by people like this. And so here you are, alone. In a different, cold, empty bedroom, again, as you have been so often lately. And Thursday will be the worst day of your life. But Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday come first.

That is a nightmare. Stay in school, kids.

John McCain himself came up with the idea after thinking it would be great before his next debate.

33. Frankly I think McCain's people made a mistake when they limited access
As soon as she was a under serious consideration before the convention, they should have had a press conference with unlimited questions. Palin would have either figured out how to handle that pressure or she would have imploded. If the first, McCain could have kept her and it would have increased her confidence. If she blew up, he could have found someone else.

Now there is no time to change VP candidates and they have destroyed her confidence. She started out with ignorant bravado and now she does not have that to keep her going. She'd be toast in a real press conference, even with the M$M hacks that are likely to be asking the questions.

34. It does seem like they would have got her on a couple of shows
as a surrogate and maybe had her do a little stumping before locking in on her as the VP.

They could have saved some trouble by having her speak for McCain on TV a couple of times. Sure, it would have dinged him but he could have kept her in Alaska instead of wearing an anchor that is more popular than he is.
