Lesson of the week for McCain
This week McCain learned there are times when you just cannot fake your way through a test. McCain saw that the credit crisis was going to be bad for Republicans. He formulated a plan to basically fake gravitas and pretend to be involved. Obama called his bluff at every turn last week. Obama had preferred to let Congress do their work and add his input behind the scenes. When McCain staged his charade on Wednesday Obama was quick to call his bluff on the debate and then go to Washington to set the framework for the Democrats used to draft the legislation in the negotiations. McCain learned that just as you cannot fake your way through a calculus test neither can you fake your way through a complex financial crisis.

1. I still think his stunt was to divert from the disasterous Palin interview and
the try to get her debate cancelled.

2. The real question is...
Will all those poduncts who voted for Bush fall for his fake-out. I hope America are smarter this time.

3. I think what he was REALLY trying for bombed
He was hoping to seem too "busy" to debate right now, not because he was afraid to debate Obama, he is a seasoned politician, but because he was literally going to try to cancel the VP debate and exchange it for the 1st pres debate. I know that may seem obvious to us, but I told a friend that, who is a Dem, and he thinks I'm just crazy. But they floated that idea in the media! OF course he found out quick that it would not work, but he was using the financial crisis almost totally for that IMO

4. I agree that canceling or postponing Veep debate was a goal

I don't know how anyone could deny that because McNut's boys were floating that idea one day after the fake suspension. Part of that strategy was to blow up any deal and extend the crisis. How despicable is that?
