I want to tell you a story. But can you close your eyes?
It's any year, any month, any day, any hour, any minute. Your country is on the precipice of Fascism. It doesn't look or feel like Hirohito/Tojo's, Hitler's, Mussolini's, Petain's, or Franco's. Your dollar is weak. You are facing a winter not certain of how you will heat your home, feed your children, or get to and from work.
A few years back your country suffered from a devastating attack, and as a result your country is embroiled in an illegal occupation of one country, and a forgotten war in another. The illegal occupation is because The Leader told you one country did something to you - but it didn't really. The Leader wanted something that country had, so he lied to you to get you to believe it. But believed it you did - and who could blame you? Emotions were high, your country got a boot in its' rear-end. Sucker punched if you will . . . The Forgotten War? That's where your enemies are - but the Leader says that the Illegal Occupation is more important.
Your country, your beloved country of which is mostly made up of descendents of immigrants, undesirables, and a few indigenous people, well - it hasn't behaved very honorably. See, what it does is takes people from that place where the Illegal Occupation and the Forgotten War are going on, and it puts them in a prison in the land of Far Far Away.

In this prison, people have water poured down their throat. It's called torture. Your country does that. And you know what? You know deep down inside it could be you. There's even proof that adolescents have been imprisoned there. And you worry - could that ever be MY child? So you keep your head down and you continue to believe The Leader.
The Leader tells you there are not only external enemies - but internal enemies. Some have brown/light tan faces and they speak this language called Spanish. And yet - there are other undesirables. The Intellectuals - oh yes. They have to go. And the artists. And writers who write against them. There are other people with brown, and yellow, and red faces - and they all speak English. But they too are to be feared. They might - YOUR LEADERS says - someday get in power and oh my! What a horror that would be. And just to keep you safe from the Internal Enemies, The Leader has a Private Police Force and will listen to your phone calls, read your emails, and well - watch you.

Your country is on the brink of Financial disaster. See, remember those terrible things that happened to your country? Your leader said in response to that incident that they hated you for who you are. And since you live in a capitalist country - the best way to get back at them other than invading your enemies WITHOUT a country is to become an ownership society. Go shop. Spend your money. And look where it's gotten you in this Land.
The Leader uses things like a Culture of Life and a Culture of Guns to keep you cowed. But The Leader's eyes are tired, he's bone weary and it's his time to move on.
What's that you say? Did you just ask - Oh where will I be without The Leader? No worries. Over the horizon is a New Leader. He'll take the place of the Old Leader. But don't worry - nothing will change much. Things will stay the same.

Behind the New Leader is The Other Leader. This Leader speaks to you about your life. He's been there . . . he was once very very poor. Oh - and Oh my - he's an Intellect. He went to one of the great teaching centers so he could absorb as much as he possibly could and share it with the world. He's a nice young fellow. Full of energy, ideas, intelligence, and light. He tells you about a country where all can be valued - every single human being. He speaks about stopping the Illegal Occupation and going after the real bad guys. He's no wimp you see - when he was once asked if somebody did something terrible to our country again? He'd get them. He loves this country - his father was actually from another land far far far away. He understands the Immigrant experience and the Undesirable experience - from having been so poor.
He believes in you. He believes in a country where every person that is sick is able to get treated. But even better - he doesn't want you to ever get SO sick that you can't be helped. He - call this crazy if you want - he doesn't believe our Elders should pay into our country if they make under 50K a year. He believes in education. He sees how are planet is in pain from The Humans and is willing to try other ways to make our planet work - without hurting it. He loves his wife and two children. He's kind - but don't forget - he's no wimp. He's tough.

This Other Leader. You should see him. :-) He has blue eyes, and light brown hair. His wife and daughters have fair skin and light eyes. They are white. They look JUST like you. The Other Leader is JUST LIKE YOU! He's even a Christian just like you.
You can open your eyes now. If you are stopping by and reading this and you follow The Leader - maybe if you think for one minute that the Other Leader is just like you - a human being . . . you'll stop and think about who is on YOUR side - and who has decidedly NOT been on your side - nor WILL be on your side.
It's your choice. I'll see you at the Polls.
