WTF he is talking about? McLame displayed leadership in economy. Did we all see the same thing?

So Chuck crossed over to the dark side.

Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 04:26 PM by eshfemme
Seriously though, wtf Chuckie T? I want to know just what you've been smoking to think that!

BTW, there's a new video out of Letterman blasting McCain for a 2nd time. It was awesome.

16. You know what pissed off Dave the most was the LIE...
McCain cancelled saying he was going to Washington to save the day.. The live feed into McCain having make-up put on before taping with Katie was extremely detrimental... That whole, trust me, I won't lie thing doesn't work.. He proves he LIES for convenience on something that is just stupid... Dave probably would have understood if McCain said, I need to tape for Katie and try and explain to people what is going on with the economy.. do you mind re-scheduling.. Dave would have been miffed, but not sooo pissed.. IT was the LIE that pissed of Letterman.. AND to have McCain call Dave personally and LIE goes to the heart of who McCain is...

23. I could not agree more ...
1) For a man who has started to corner the market on stupid moves, this is one of his top 5. I agree, he calls Letterman and explains why he needs to do Couric, Letterman if fine with it. But, to lie and say he is heading back to DC, only to be in the SAME FRIGGEN building, with another personality FROM THE SAME NETWORK ...

WTF did he think Letterman was going to do?

2) Letterman can grind an ax - he will have NO problem taking shots at McCain a couple nights a week going into the election.

3) Letterman is from Indiana - he is a person the state takes pride in. This stupid dick move is going to cost him in a state that BO had an outside shot at to begin with.

4) Again, it just never ends, saying, WTF was this guy thinking. But, WTF was he thinking, he called him anyway, why freakin LIE about it? Another in a litany of things that draws serious concerns about his personality.

26. Yes, what also helped was the GRAPHIC depiction of that lie.
It wasn't just David Letterman saying that McCain told him one thing-- he illustrated it by showing the live feed coming from Katie Couric (which incidentally pissed off the CBS news division that he did that). It was just the perfect evidence for what he was saying.

15. Again, every day on these programs, they designate at least one or two pundits
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 04:40 PM by wienerdoggie
to play devil's advocate and present the anti-conventional-wisdom view. I have never watched an entire program where all talking heads are in agreement on major points. If they all agreed, the ratings would go down, because the network would piss off too many people of the opposing viewpoint and make them tune out--believe me, MSNBC has Pat Buchanan on for a reason. Their pundits and hosts sometimes espouse the Republican viewpoint for a reason--it's all engineered for maximum diverse viewership. Hardball and shows like it are entertainment, not news, and thus they get away with it.

17. I agree with Todd.
When you think about it, the only time mcsame wins the debate is when drama and gossip overtake issues. He was on the wrong end of the financial issue, losing the debate day by day. His campaign manager was found to have been taking $30,000/month from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, his VP nominee had become a joke of major proportions and the news had been leaking that she'd fucked her husband's business partner. He had to do something to take all of that off the air.

By creating yet another dramatic moment in claiming that he was going to single-handedly solve the finance crisis while "suspending" his campaign, he got all that off the air. Sure he looked like a fool, but at least he didn't look like a lying, befuddled fool with an adulterous running mate.

All in all, I'd have to agree with Todd. 75% to the good, but still very, very bad.

18. Polls today suggest otherwise. That's why Chuckie T has to spin it for McLoser--
wouldn't want that poll gap to continue to widen for Obama.

20. I don't think mcsame did well, just better than the alternative.
He took a hit in order to soften a greater hit. There was no way mcsame was going to look good after all this was through, but he would have looked worse if he had let things continue as they were.

So of course he wants to keep this as close as possible.
