I think Kerry should attack with laughter
Some really good comic ridicule of all the stuff they have tried to throw at him. Ads would be better than speeches.

He's done this in the past successfully, when an opponent tried to tar him with his anti-war stance. Won in a landslide.

1. Yeah
He should laugh and say "did you see that circus?". "It was such a hoot."

2. This might work--has to be right on targte though.
AND there have to OTHER DEMS who will provide the serious condemnations to keep the thing going.

The puks ae so good at this spin-cycel thing--we need to have our own voices mobilized.

Dean can't do it all alone.

We need to hear from Daschle, Biden, the Clintons, Jimmy Carter, and others.

4. Quote Zell's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner speech from 2001.
"Back in 2001, Senator Miller said, and I quote: 'My job tonight is an easy one: to present to you one of this nation's authentic heroes, one of this party's best-known and greatest leaders – and a good friend.' (Chuckle) Well, with friends like that, who needs enemies?"

or

"Back in 2001, Senator Miller had this to say about me, and I quote: 'John has worked to strengthen our military.' (Chuckle) And they call me a flip-flopper!"

Or you could combine the two somehow. :D

i think today was perfect with the vets, he should just keep being himself

they're gonna go after Edward's trial lawyer backround next. . .

I wish some surrogate would respond with. . .

"So, you'd rather have your national security insured by having a war profiteer, second in command. . .?"

10. He HAS countered the charges
Over and over and over and over, ad infinitum.

You say you haven't heard? Well, guess why. He's muzzled in the media, and there's no getting around that.

Some easy-going mocking would be more effective, IMO. We see some hilarious stuff here on DU, as you'll discover.

Welcome to DU!

12. The charges are easy to counter.
Most of the cuts in military spending Mr. Miller mentioned were post- Cold War proposals by George H. W. Bush's Secretary of Defense. Pray tell, do you recall that Secretary of Defense's name?

<Dick Cheney>

Mr. Miller also claimed that Mr. Kerry would only go to war if the UN approved. To my knowledge, Mr. Kerry has never said anything of the sort. Nor would any President.

Why not ask Zell Miller ca. 2001 what he thought of John Kerry? Surely he wasn't praising Mr. Kerry?

"My job tonight is an easy one: to present to you one of this nation's authentic heroes, one of this party's best-known and greatest leaders – and a good friend.

"John has worked to strengthen our military, reform public education, boost the economy and protect the environment."

Well, I'll be damned! That wouldn't be a flip-flop, would it?

I know what you're saying. "You found that quote on some liberal website." Well - close. It's on Senator Miller's website.

20. There are no charges worth a damn...
..they've all been refuted.

Zell Miller has gone batshit and was just a raving lunatic.

This was the Freakin' keynote address at the RNC. This wasn't some guy getting drunk in an airport lounge and getting lippy with a reporter during a weather delay.

C'mon a GA Fan should know better.

9. Kerry has ideas and plans----the pukes have NOTHING to offer
Kerry is so clearly the leader here, he doesn't need to get ugly.

Laughter is a GREAT way to go...!

16. The best part of this 'stratagery' is ...
Edwards is also quite good at this sort of thing. No attorney worth his salt doesn't know how to be sarcastic and, at the same time, get a jury on his side by making them feel the sarcasm flatters their intelligence.

18. That's a great idea! Stand there and laugh and then ask who are the real
party of angry people? Then go down, point by point all the falsities that they presented, in particular about his voting record (while pointing out Cheney's own voting record on weapons systems)....

And then play Bush's interview with Matt Lauer and then the next day changing his tune on the "War on Terror being Winnable" and then ask the American people - Who's the flip-flopper?

And laugh his ass off at these angry losers...while fighting back....and have John Edwards doing the same....
