14. I'm waiting for them to ask her what part of Russia is IN Alaska.
Remember, she said Russia was "IN" her state.

18. In fairness, Pauly Shore was considered a "star" at one point, too.
And that didn't turn out so well either.

10. very interesting - what's not mentioned is the 3 way fight for the

land under the melted ice. US, Can, Russia. Russia has planted a flag on part of it and Can. says they own all of it.

Palin is not doing 'trade missions' with Russia.

6. So does Oklahoma
OK trades beef ( maybe wheat too) Although Brad Henry would certainly be fine for VP, unlike Miss Sarah.

7. Most states (most border states, anyway)
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 10:40 AM by ogneopasno
often have low-key "trade missions" where the governor and some business mucky-mucks go to a country and shake hands in front of a joint venture. It gives the governor's office a chance to issue statements on how much "trade" the state does with a country, and establishes a teeny bit of foreign cred in case the governor has aspirations in the future. The fact that Palin hasn't been on any of these trips is telling, I think. Well, that, and the fact that she can't complete a sentence without looking like a complete and utter idiot.

9. Many states have "Trade Missions" with other countries.
Our "governor" uses them as an excuse to fly him and his family around the world on the taxpayers dime.

The only thing he "trades" are our jobs.

12. Check Google
Here's a 1997 trade mission: http://www.akrepublicans.org/pastlegs/prmiller1100697.htm
And this summary takes us back to the Pleistocene, or some such: http://gov.state.ak.us/trade/2003/tad/russia/timeline.htm - nothing after 2003
Nothing apparent on the Alaska Dept of Commerce regarding trade with Russia -- http://www.dced.state.ak.us/home.htm
Nothing in a 2007 AK Dept of Comm press release on Russian visitor travel to AK, unless they fall into "out of state" visitors, of which there were 250,000 between Oct 2006 and Apr 2007
And here are the results of a search for "Russia" on the AK Dept of Comm website -- http://www.commerce.state.ak.us/oed/toubus/pub/AVSPVTecAppendix.pdf

15. They must be mental telepathic trade missions
The same kind of long-range vibes Palin receives from Russia when she sees it from her Wasilla home.

16. What about the national security thing.
She implied that Alaska was "keeping an eye" on Russia, as if they were keeping us safe. So, does that mean if Russia flies over Alaska on it's way to Washington to drop a bomb, Alaska would catch them an intercede???
