-----Has anyone else thought about this angle, along with the other obvious stuff---
I keep thinking that part of the reason McCain pulled this stunt, was because he forced Obama to be sidelined from his debate practice. I think that was part of it. He didn't want Obama to be well rehersed for the debate. He knew that Obama would he holed up in Florida, getting ready for the debate. Now, he thinks he interrupted that.

We all know with or without practice, Obama would still kick his ass in the debate, but I can't help wonder if mccrap's campaing had it in mind as well.

2. I think Obama did much of his prep anyway, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Also, he had last evening, and today.

3. It MAY have crossed their minds, briefly.
But let's not forget, they are practicing Rovain tactics.

7. Yes, but it was widely reported that mccrap was not going to practice.
At the very least, mccrap had not planned to stay in one place and rehearse.

6. I have a feeling....
he is a master multi-tasker, and is well prepared.....

and his temperment, intelligence, and grace will stand him in great steed tonight.

10. I think it's bigger -- broader -- than that.
I'm guessing McCain's camp figures Obama is pretty much ready for the debate -- interrupted practice or not.

My personal take on this is that McCain's numbers are dropping, the economic nightmare is being blamed (rightly so) on the Republicans so there's guilt by association, he might be able to use his Save The World stunt as an action which people may read as Presidential and in charge.

I honestly think they were worried about the debates anyway, and this gave them an excuse to weasel out of this one, with the bonus of MAYBE resulting in the cancellation of the VP debate (I've read where McCain's camp is even MORE nervous about that after the Couric interview.)

Regardless of their smarmy, questionable and self-serving motivations, the 'coup' appears not to be achieving the desired results.
