1. I'm not sure if that's right. I think it was McGovern who declined after
the Dem convention.

2. Yes
Unless, by some miracle, Bush hits a home run tomorrow, this entire Convention will have been an unmitigated disaster. There hasn't been a hopeful, forward looking speech yet. It's just hate, hate, hate, terror, terror, terror. I'm really interested to see some post convention polls. I think the Bush campaign is in free fall.

7. You know what's really funny?
This convention was supposed to highlight the MODERATES of the party

I agree with you, Shrub hasn't got what it takes to give a speech that could save him. He's got no record and no character. I think he's toast.

6. Please let his speech be a repeat of the SOTU debacle,
Please be a repeat of the SOTU debacle,
Please be a repeat of the SOTU debacle,
Please be a repeat of the SOTU debacle,
etc.

10. Yes!
Bush proved with his last SOTU that it's possible to screw up a speech so badly that even the media whores can't spin it.

So...
Please be a repeat of the SOTU debacle!
Please be a repeat of the SOTU debacle!
Please be a repeat of the SOTU debacle!

11. The only problem with that...
...no way to recreate the "the Patriot Act will soon expire (audience cheers)" highlight in front of his "base."

WE will know it's bad...hopefully, selected members of the media will too...but alas, in the convention hall anything that comes out of his mouth will be received like manna from heaven.

3. Someone may concoct a bounce for him.

After stealing an election, I wouldn't trust them not to rig polls.

5. I don't believe any of it
We are living in an Orwelian nightmare. We must change presidents. We must.

8. Three days ago I would have said no, he'll get at least a little bounce.
Now I'm not so sure. We still have Bush himself in the lineup, and of course no one would put it past the media to concoct a little something. But Joanne may be right. We may be about to witness history in the making.

9. probably a tiny bounce
but then people will start to wise up when the realize that Kerry is the man for the job. The chimp has nothing at all to run on so he has to bash Kerry. Bush* is toast folks.

12. No bounce!
Combo of shitty ass convention and Hurricane Frances.

Of course the whore media will just say that the ONLY reason he didn't get a bounce was because of the hurricane.
