Good for Dean, this is how to campaign. Now, CNN, defend your poll.
If CNN has it on their website as true, then we may claim it for ourselves.

http://www.blogforamerica.com/

The blog posts the results at this site;
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/01/05/elec04.poll.democrats.poll/index.html

Now CNN must explain why they can say the results are not valid because people were not at work? That is just silly.

6. Because people were home and not at work??
Woodruff and Schneider were about to crack up when they tried to defend that excuse.

4. No, because CNN used other parts of it.
They announced it on TV, and they kept parts and threw this part away.

Now CNN needs to defend it. It is at the Polling Report.

8. Have you ever seen this kind of disclaimer in a pro-b*sh poll...
Edited on Tue Jan-06-04 06:10 PM by FubarFly
"Polls cannot predict what will happen in an election 11 months in the future -- particularly when only a quarter of the public is thought to be paying close attention to the campaign."

They are clearly trying to minimize any impact this poll may have.

That CNN has pro Republican/pro administration bias should already be beyond doubt.

15. Waste of time and energy?
How so?

Do you think Dean's is the only campaign that conducts polls or uses them?

Do you think there shouldn't be polls?

Do you think it isn't a given that these are just polls, and ultimately useless?

Do you think it took a lot of time or energy to do that?

An answer to any of these questions would be appreciated. I don't want to assume anything about you, so this will help me understand your position.

9. You guys are crazy
You are going ballistic over two polls. Here's one thing that is true - one poll is more accurate than the other. The one today is much more consistent with other polls. Who knows really?

However, could you accept any fact that isn't pro-Dean? No, it must be a conspiracy!

18. Um, they disagree
Do you have any training in science? We are dealing in hard facts here. You have two polls that disagree. One is by definition more accurate than the other. If the people who ran the poll think there is a problem with the poll, you really do have to throw it out. You need no more justification than that!

The goal is getting close to the true value, which actually exists! If you polled every American voter, you would get the true value. But polling, like any scientific endeavor, has some amount of error. Sometimes, you are way off. You have to be dispassionate about the numbers.

What is the true value? Who knows? There will be another poll next week.

20. No, my issue is they HID the poll.
I told you it is not so much the poll, it is the manipulation. Even though the poll was on their website, they lied about it on TV. That is wrong.
